Wow! What kind of engine did you start with? I've never heard of one that could be bored out that much. Did you stroke it too?

I know of no governor because I inspected the tranny myself looking for wear when the engine came out.
Speed limiter would be programmed in the ECM, no attached to the tranny. But you later said you had a different ECM, so that answers that question.

Other mods are a two inch drop on a Lotus suspension,
Tell me about the Lotus suspension? What's it include? Did it come off a Lotus, was it designed by Lotus? I like the old J-bodies, but hadn't heard of this mod before.

giant headers (that I admit have been milled one to many times)
What do you mean by "milled" headers?
Sorry for all the questions. I really like the late 80's-early 90's J-bodies. I'd love to find a Sunbird with the 3.1V6 and a 5-speed, preferable a convertible! Tell me all you can about your mods. I'm very interested.

Vehicle was originaly equipped with the 2.8 l multi port fuel injected V6. I have since then replaced it witht the 3.1 (sorry my goof) and had it bored out by .7. Cost the shinny penny too I'm telling you as with that mod, you have to mill the heads to get it to run right. But with the cooling issue I originaly had, they had to be milled over and over again. Now, their down to almost nothing and I may need a new gasket because of it. The suspension is made by Lotus but it came off a Suburu that was junked. Not made for this car but it worked great. Got the whole thing for 300 bucks! Springs, used shocks, though I had to widen the area that attatches to the chasis because the Suburu it came off of was small.(bolt pattern) Sinse I increased the size of the engine, I had to increase the flow of all of the little "goodies" such as the oil, air, and fuel. High pressure braided hoses and lines are the next mod. I don't have much room for a turbo or a supercharger unless I get one of the goofy open air hood scoops I see too many times on Mustangs. High flow is the key in my car which will probobly lead to it's downfall in the longrun. But it will be a fun ride. Too bad it's an automatic. But it is a three speed and I took what I could get at the time. Hope this helps. You will have a costly car if you get one with a good engine still intact. But not nearly as expensive as those Mustange pro parts.

Didn't see the one that says 150 in a stock Fiero GT. Looked again, Sorry you must be seeing things again. The fastest I have seen for stock is low 130's and a few modded Fiero's going into the low 140's. Which thread/post are you referring too? Is it on this forum?

Toped my old 88 coupe out a few times. Speedo would wrap past 0 and hit the 10mph mark. I'd guess 115-120mph was about what I was doing.
'85 GT. Wrapped the speedo past 0 and back to 35. Somewhere between 35 and 40 it began spinning like a top, and that's where I backed off. Estimated speed between 135 and 140. Surprised I didn't blow the engine, because it was redlined the entire time. I should also note that I was going down a slight incline (not a big long grade, but a hill nonetheless) which no doubt gave me the extra speed.
However, I hit ~120 all the time in that GT. I'd wrap the speedo back past 0 to 10mph on long stretches of freeway on a regular basis (drove 5 hours one way to see my girlfriend - now wife of 5 years - every two weeks for months when I was in high school). Never once had the headlights pop up, but the car also had fairly low miles (~70k) at the time and the springs were strong as heck.
I've never had a problem with you either, but theres no chance in hell a stock fiero gt could hit 145 mph. It doesnt matter if youre a nice guy or not, i challenge bs when I see it.
In my 78 Ford LTD II I went what I would say maybe 100 (85 Mph speed-o strait up and down.)had quite a bit left also. In my 85 2m4 I went just a little past the 85 mark on when I took it for a test drive before I bought it. And my 94 Ford Tempo with the 2.3L 4 pooper I would say at least 200 maybe 300 MPH!!!!! LOL only hat that little past he 85MPH mark also car shocked so bad I though the damn thing was going to fall apart!!!

Black Wang this is why you are not and never will be a respected member of this board. I have never seen a post by you that wasn't either a flame to piss peoople off or just make fun of someone. Hell I think Galen has more worth while posts then you!! I didn't think that was possible.
You still haven't shown where someone said they did 150 in their stock fiero. 145 is not 150. Their speedo could have been inacurate did you ever stop and think about that? I believe a fiero has about 135 top speed at best. Maybe thier speedo became inacurate at the higher speeds. Doesn't mean he's lieing about how fast he THINKS he's going.
Back to the mustang board with ya numb nuts.

I'm just wondering does Cliff even see some of the BS that goes on this board?
I've seen posts back on the old fiero-list I was on and this guy got clock 138-140 in his 4 spd GT cop said he would have never caught him and let the guy go because he pulled over fairly quick, every top end will vary.. but for a 2.8 thats pretty damn good, nuff said.
Only us that own and drive the cars will know.. hey if you can hit 140, 150 hats off to ya.. least ya came back in 1 piece
WorstFiero 145 is practically 150, he didnt say his speedo might have been off, he didnt say he thought he was doing that, he said he did 145 in a stock fiero. If you look elsewhere in this thread you see someone else say a stock 2000 camaro SS only goes up to around 160. Idiot. The bottom line, a stock fiero doing 150, 145, even 140 is total bs, and I have every right to call it on that. Back up off me fool.

If you are referring to me about the 145 mph, If you could comprehend what you read, you would see that I said "My guess in my 87 GT 2.8L 5spd is around 145 mph."
Now, I know for sure my stock 2.8 5 spd will do 140, at that speed it was still pulling strong, I can't see why 145 wouldn't be achievable.
If Blankstang wants to prove my car will not hit 145, grab a radar gun, bring it here, and we will see just how fast it will go. Yes, I said you come here, it seems you have something to prove, not me. If my 2.8 won't hit 145, I really don't care.
If not, keep your pie hole shut.
OH BTW, just fer giggles, I bet my 2.8 will give your mustang a run for its money. If not, thats what the V8 is for...... Either way, I have a Fiero that will BLOW the doors off of your mustang! HAHA I bet even my V8 cost less money than your mustang.

Every fiero tech site I've ever seen says circa 130 top speed. But what do they know compared to YOU. I'm not gonna get a radar gun and go see you, and you knew that, youre just talking out of your ass more or less. You might as well say you're stock fiero can run 7's in the 1/4 mile, and dare anyone to come clock you if they dont believe you.
does it make you feel cool to know your v8 fiero can beat my stock v-6 mustang? That's REALLY not an accomplishment. But whatever makes you feel cool...

Maybe black wang he didn't know what they rate a fiero's top speed at so when His speed odometer said 145 he didn't think anything of it. Ya know not everyone is trying to lie and pull the wool over your eyes....not that it would be real hard. And yes I would say if you do the work that is involved to install a v8 you can certanly say you built it yourself.
