I always wave, but I have had 3 people wave back so far (that's in just over a year) and one of those rolled down the window so we talked for a while at the stop lights. Once I was helping my mom because her car had broken down in the main lane before an intersection, and I see this maroon GT just like mine sitting in traffic behind a large van, so he can't see whats goin on, I walk over to him (Getting VERY strange look the whole time) point out my fiero and tell him to go around the van, he seemed more receptive then If I see a Fiero in a parking lot I will walk over to look at it, a few times the owner got there the same time I did, another good conversation trap! *waves* Gareth

I always wave at a Fiero, and if I don't get a good response back I know that they don't really appreciate their car. I pulled up behind a sweet 86 or 87 GT in town once and I have him an approving smile while he was looking at my Fiero in his rearview mirror. As we left the light, he took off and I had to follow. We headed out of town on some twisty two lane, and we were flying. I had to turn off before he did, so I gave a wave. I always get a rush when I see another Fiero especially if it's a fastback GT. -Matthew
I have a tendency to try to go out of my way to take a good look at a Fiero if I run by one or saw one somewhere. But for some reason, I keep running into Mach10 on the streets.
I've tried to jam through rush hour traffic just to catch up to a gold 86SE but the woman driving it didn't look over to my side.

I was drivin down the highway one day when I saw an 88 coupe just like mine!!!!! So I pulled over into the third lane and sped up VERY slowly because there was a cop behind me and I was already doin 15 over the speed limit. Well I got up next to her and I honked and waved and carried on. She looked over kinda startled, then laughed and waved. She then pulled over into the left lane so I could get into the second to slow down. The cop pulled up next to me and the next speed limit sign we passed, he pulled out his spot light and shined it onto it, then sped off. Thank god I didn't get pulled over.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I guess my answer would be yes =)

Very interesting topic! This actually comes up a lot in discussions between me and my girlfriend. See, she drives a Jeep, and when I drive her Jeep, she wants me to wave to every other Jeep. I'm not a big fan of Jeeps, and they are everywhere, but I do it to make her happy. I do see my fair share of Fieros, but I think if you can see the driver and the car, you can pretty much figure out if they would wave back. I noticed the miserable looking person in a Fiero that hasn't been washed since the 80's might not even know that it the same model! So, I guess I maybe kind of a snob (wow, that sucks, I'll have to work on that) with who in a Fiero I wave to. I guess I figure if they can't respect there car I have trouble respecting them.
i thought it came from motorcylists. when i first got a bike and was reading all the cycle mags i read that bikers did it as a sign of comraderie. since at one time bikers were not thought of in the best light (i guess people thinking they were all hells angels or something) the only help you might get if you broke down was from another biker. i always waved. i pretty much feel and do the same if i'm out running or bicycling.
when i got my corvette i didn't see the reasoning. it seemed kind of elitist to me. i can't explain that. so i just wave if someone waves at me.
with the fiero i wave first (except for a couple of people i see a lot that don't wave back. i gave up on them). it's the same feeling as with bikes. some one else has picked an out of the mainstream vehicle that dosen't get a great deal of respect.

I was going to get pick up something to eat after work at a bar. I gave my order and went for a ride while I was waiting. Going down mainstreet I see this 2m6. I do a big "Uy" and turn around and race up to catch up with it. I finally do and pass it while looking at the car. I gave a thumbs up and passed them. While I turned into a driveway to turn back around, they gave me a wave and a honk. It was in pretty good shape. Too bad I was driving the Buick instead of the Fiero.... God I miss my car already. Its been stored for 2 weeks now. I have a bad itch to drive it.
