I got an email requesting I do a custom job on a Fiero further down the track for someone. Not just the image, but build it. The request was for a wide body not unlike a Ferarri. This car would need 10" and 12" wheels to fill the wheel wells. I think it would be criminal to have anything less than a twin turbo V6 or a V8. Think he will like it?
I used a picture I found on the Forum as a bas for it. Who's car was this?
I like it too, but I think a side scoop more like the stage-2 or newer Ferrari style- not such a fan of the older testarossa style side strakes. still a nice design.

How's about something more in line with the '94 355 Berlinetta or the '92 348TB ? Both sported side vents but considerably most subtle that the Testa. Also, the actual rear end of the 348 very closely resembles the existing Fiero GT design. Incorporating the two would be a relatively easy design task.
I'd like to see it without the black body seam and a more "coke" bottle shape (ie., narrower through the door area). It looks a little slab sided. I do like the concept.

Looks real good! But if you're going that far, might as well try to style some recessed glass covered headlamps (fill hood in at lamps) in the front facia (that get into the corners alittle), and Countach type style air scoops at the quarter windows. Possibly NASA type ducts instead of conventional at frt of rear tires. Hey....just dreamin'!!!

Well that was draft 1. A late night one at that. I drew 2 different wings on it but didn't finish them. I also have a version with different side scoops. Will post them later.
Doni and others waiting for stage 2 side scoops. The plugs are finished, look nice, dropping them at the glass guys today. I was going to make the moulds myself but my workshop still isn't set up properly. Seems I have to have a spray booth by law to work with glass, for the grinding. Doing them at home, well my wife will kill me if I get the smell of anymore fibreglass through the house. Our garage is attatched and I am still trying to get rid of the smell inside.
So it looks like my workshop is for development purposes only for now.
mmmmmm, i like it.... what about a different front bumper? you know the one...or the style im talking about? also, how bout a spoiler that comes from the outside of the car like a ferrari f-50? if you know what i mean... beautiful car... the side vents are awesom. V-8 was the next step i was intending on. more specificaly an LS-1. then i think a roof chop would be in order. this is going to be a long process...but it will be well worth it. can you post the pic in black?
oh, by the way, I THINK HE WILL LOVE IT!!! i wonder if i could just have my paychecks directly deposited to your bank account
------------------ You pull up to a stop light..........you hear an engine rev....you look over and see a hard core, riced out, shogun, eurostriped, 3 level spoiler, civic.....you think to yourself "this should be fun"......you rev your engine.....the light turns green, you pop the clutch......shift to 2nd........ 3rd....... 4th.... you are winning, then you smell it and realize something bad has happened..... you look over at your best friend in the passenger seat, he looks back and you say "damnit dude, why did you have to fart" :damon:
i just keep coming back and looking at it.... wow, that thing is sexy. they should have a drool smiley. :)~ hows that?

I'd loose the ridges on the headlight doors, and it really looks like it could use a ~3" chassis streatch in the rear... (I've always thought this about fieros actually.) It's very F50, and that is NOT a bad thing!! I like the testarosa-esque slats, just make sure they're really elegantly formed and continue deep into the scoop.
trying to do a scoop will just look like a (very) poor 355 ripoff, that car just has *The Look* that can't be duplicated
Consider slight rounding to the angles in front, 355 style curves. I like the general shape though, definately a keeper.
Try it with a ~2-3" choped top, wicked-cool design! (WAY better than that 'other' purple widebody, which I do like. But not like this, Aus is the MAN!)
Best!! Ben.

Hey Aus, here is a different idea. Have you ever looked into Porsche 928 or 968 style headlights. It would definately be different. Pop that into the computer and see what comes up. For an engine, how about a really built 4.3. All the power without the weight.

Please keep it Fiero-ish. Once you go too far it begins to look like another Ferrari-wanna-be. Also, how about another color, candy apple blue, or bright silver, even white.

hey aus, i agree with a lot of the people about the lights. i think they would be a little better if they didn't flip up. then if you just happened to be going 200 mph, they wouldnt flip up because of wind pressure. plus they would be a little more aerodynamic. just an idea. could you have the hood scoops meet, or...make them one scoop? j/w. wow, this thread is getting pretty decent traffic.

Ok I haven't decided whre to put the headlights yet. But here is another variation. With some items by request fromt he person who is after it plus a few other mods. Yes the wheels are F50 Wheels as are the side scoops now too. Oh yeah, it has been chopped 3" also.

Why not style the wide body like the Fiero race car or the wider style of the 89. it doesn't have to be exact, but it would be cool to have the look of either of them.
ausi, i think you have done it, i didn't think i could love the fiero any more than i already did, but you have proved me wrong. if you left the lights stock, and left the hood stock, it would be perfect. the front end is awesome. i love the spoiler. the side scoops are great, the widthe is um, i cant find another synonym for awesome. but you get the idea. the only thing that could make that better is a targa top, but i dont need a picture to see it in my head im sure you dont have one yet, but just in case, do you have a price/time range yet? just wondering.
