I've looked into a couple brands, thus far I like the Commando #KE-2DLK kit the best (http://www.commandocaralarms.com/itemdetails.asp?ProductID=1428), as the key fob has a more "factory" look to it. My GT does not have power locks, but I've located bezels and factory lock buttons, so I'm hoping to have a "factory" look once I'm done. However, this kit uses a 5-wire system that does not need or require lock/unlock buttons, if you unlock one side, it automatically unlocks the other (and visa/versa). I called Commando tec. support and asked if the system can be used with factory door lock buttons, the guy acted like I was asking a totally bizarre question, claims no one has ever asked that before, and put me on hold. Came back on and said sure, you can do what ever you want, as long as you know how to wire it. Duh, ya think! I asked him if they have any instructions to do so, he said no, and again said no one has ever asked that question (which I find very, very hard to believe).

So, before I purchase this system, I was wondering if anyone here has installed the Commando power lock system (model #KE-2DLK) and utilized factory buttons? If so, would you be able to tell me which wires to use/not use within their wiring harness to hook up factory buttons?

Thanks, much appreciated!

Shouldn't be difficult to adapt to aftermarket door lock actuators.

Here is another one I found, and I know it will work with factory lock switches (they even sell switches as well).

http://www.a1electric.com/M...oduct_Code=W01F-712T

It cost a little more (they claim the system is quality "Swiss" made, not so sure about that, lol) and I don't have a problem with the extra money. The only negative is the key fobs, in my opinion they really don't have a "factory" look at all. Guess I'll to get over that though, cause unless I can figure out "for sure" how to wire the Commando brand (and the company obviously won't be any help), I've not found any other alternatives.

Thanks for help guys... any other suggestions are welcome!

If You're going for Stock looking fobs, you'll need to go GM.
Either get The VKE1000 or pull the receiver from some GM car in boneyard.
Personally I found a $50 BCM (used) the best deal: stock looks and a heap of features the aftermarket didn't offer.
Using the f-body BCM is like it's been designed for the Fiero, buttons, functionality - even the wiring colors.

I'm not all that fixated on "actual" factory fobs, just so long as they have a factory "look" to them, and not something too "out there" so to speak. I like the features of the Avital unit (and I'm sure it will easily work with factory door locks) but I'm not crazy over the look of the fob (looks like something I'd see on a foreign car, lol). Anyway, I may have to get over it and just use those because I've not discovered any for sure methods of wiring the Comando unit to factory lock and unlock buttons....
