I've had a similar problem for quite some time on my 2.8 as well - except mine happens in ANY season. After starting, it idles up and down for at least 7 minutes (i assume this is what's considered as "hunting"), after which I feel the need to hit the gas so it doesn't stall out. After several minutes, it seems to level out and idle normally.

Has anyone corrected this problem with their new air charge sensor?

Brent - check and/or add engine to frame grounds. If your trouble doesn't clear please start a new thread.
