Well here it is...the spring car shows are in a little over a month so I want to start working on my 88 show car again.

it's the one in my signature.

I'd really like to know about removal of the EVAP and EGR.

I know they are both vaccuum controlled. but how would I go about making it so they weren't there at all?

step-by-step instructions would help. or a how-to would be great.

Thanks!!!

I suppose you could move the EVAP to the space behind the drivers side door, where the air intake is. As long as it is above the fuel tank.
The side grill does cover it. Just add a sheet metal shroud around it (a decorative plate or cover).
The EGR, why remove it if it works. The air cleaner assembly should be hiding it anyway.

My thoughts...

hmmm, I never really though of relocating the Evap. I like that idea.
well the main reason I want to get rid of the EGR is because i'm making a different intake housing that will leave that area open.

instead of having the intake go over the valve cover and exhaust manifold...it will go straight over to the left (transmission) then follow back to the intake scoop on the quarter panel.

why not just cover it with one of those covers from a trans am or something? you really dont want to remove that. i also like the idea of moving the EVAP canister instead of removing it. you want to keep that. of course as an emissions tech, and understanding how they work, i wouldnt recommend removing any of the emissions equipment.

I have no emissions. nor will I.
but I think I'll get another one of those plastic covers like on the V6's and paint it to look pretty
and relocating the evap wont negatively affect my vaccum right?

Electric? Propane? How you have no emissions? Moving the evap shouldn't affect the vacuum.

you meen you have no emissions inspections? whoop dee doo, lucky you! but my recomendations still stand. those devices actualy help your engine run better, and should not effect performance at all. both EGR and EVAP are only active durring cruse conditions. you have problems if they are operating at any other times.

as long as you connect everything correctly, moving it will not effect your vacuum. in fact on most new cars the canister is located near the fuel tank under the car.
