I'm currently installing a "88 cradle on an "87 GT with a 3.4. Does anyone know if I will need special alignment specs?

Thanks

If you have a flat floor, carpenters square, level, string, calipers, paper & pen, wrenches, sockets, torque wrench, patience, a couple hours and the proper knowledge one can do it at home as I have done on several occasions. For details see the publication, "How to Make Your Car Handle".

Knowledge can accomplish much when applied properly.

Not having alignment equipment in my shop, I took my 87GT to the local Goodyear dealer. I fugured that places who replace tires have got to know what they are doing when it comes to wheels-right? Wrong. The job came out like sh*t. The steering wheel was set out of position and the rear tires wore out on the inner edge after only a few thousand miles. Unfortuntely I found out later that the place hires lowlife that doesn't even speak English, so how can they expect this level of cheap immigrant labor to do a decent job. Never again will Goodyear do an alignment for me.

I work for a large dealership. We sell Lincoln/Mercury/Mitsubishi/Suzuki/BMW. Our Alignment tech sucks. He does not understand steering geometry and struggles on every alignment. The most he ever sets is toe and if the car still pulls when he is done he tells the customer it's caused by the tires. Every car I work on I align myself and I have aligned several Fiero's. They are no harder to align than a BMW and there's nothing special about them. It only took me about 40 min to align my 88 after I lowered it. That was with adjusting rear camber and toe and front caster, camber and toe.

HUH? How can you believe that? I can align any car and even my fiero BETTER than any certified specialist with a fancy laser alignment setup with my 60 year old tools my grandfather gave me.

You can align a car better at home than any shop. you need the tools and know-how. it's actually not that hard. Most racing shops have the tools available to buy as all good race pit crews do their own alignments on their cars.

I had my 4 wheel alignment done by PBJ on this forum, he works for a Pontiac dealership. I was there to witness what he did and he knows fieros inside out. He had it up on the rack and off pretty quick. He knew what he was doing and it was no fuss.

My question is... lets say this summer I cut my front springs to lower the front end, or put in lowering front ball joints... do I need a 4 wheel alignment again, or can they just align the front?
