I know the 84 and the later front control arms are different, but how so, and does it make any difference in steering or anything?

just curious
thanks

I was told, there are stronger in design, but geometrically the same, as in will not mess up your steering set up. If replacing, you would still want a new alignment, since you need to take a lot of things apart to swap them.

Just resurrecting this topic. Information on this is confusing.

Also discussed here: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/A...070315-2-076872.html

According to this, the 1984 control arms are:
- stronger (or weaker)
- have a reduced turning radius
- have a higher spring seat (car sits higher)

Does anyone have definitive answers? Has someone measured the control arms or different turning angles? Specifically, will putting 86 front control arms on an 84 decrease the turning radius and lower car (and by how much - 1/2 inch?)

Thanks...
