Can someone with more knowledge than I tell me wether or not this actually is a Getrag? I've never seen one in person so my knowledge is kind of limited visually.

No, that is not a Getrag. It's an Isuzu 5 speed, The seller is incorrect. -Jason

Just remembered this thread here, it will help you identify the trans in any Fiero.

That's what I was thinking but wasn't sure. The three bolts near the shifter cables got me thinking it wasn't. Thanks for the info.

I ordered a transmission from someone that was suppose to be a getrag. 600 dollars for a 40k mile getrag, I knew it was too good to be true. Ended up getting an Isuzu like the one in that auction. Wow was that not fun.

Could be the real reason he's selling it. Either that, or he just doesn't know and won't listen to someone who tells him otherwise. His auction says not to e-mail him and tell him what he has. So he may have tried to sell it before and got e-mails telling him it just wasn't so. Oh well, I'll keep looking.

Did anybody notice that in his listing, he asks that no e-mails be sent telling him what he has? I think he knows it's not a Getrag and is trying to rip someone off!!!

That was one of my thoughts as well. Nice looking transmission though. Just not the one he claims it is.

When the auction is over email the high bidder and maybe a few of the high bidders under the highest bidder and tell them what it is.

I sent him an email with the link I gave you. No questions or anything, if he's smart he would just look and change his auction. -Jason

Seeing as he said he rebuilt it, he's either lying about what it is, lying about rebuilding it, or he got REAL creative with some of the parts as he was putting it back together

Nah, he's just too "smart" to listen to us, or in denial about the fact that he's wrong. Maybe both. Looks like a nice Isuzu though if you're not trying to push a lot of horsepower. May go cheap since he made it obvious that there's "questions" about what it is on the listing. I'm gonna be watchin it.......er.....um...I mean, what a piece of crap!!! I don't think any one should ever look at that listing again!!!

One of the bidders is a member here on the forum--think we should let him know?

At the bottom of the screen on the listing there is a "Report this item" icon.

If it's misrepresentation the public has a right to know, I don't believe he has the option to change the initial listing now that someone has already bid on it. He can amend it with the facts he has since acquired or already been aware of. Under the circumstances can you trust that it was rebuilt.

I think the fact that he has added *don`t email me* and tell me what I have , has altered the bidding prices and it appears at least one bidder has dropped out..
