Same story on the greese. Don't use the white crap that comes with the module. I use a product called arctic silver II. It's a silver based material.
I first came across it when I used to overclock computers. I increased the core voltage of a AMD k6-3 to 2.7 volts with that stuff. It's a 2.2v chip, so that's a pretty sick increase. The system ran fine for nearly 2 years. The core eventually started to crumble. To get good heat transfer I removed the aluminum plate on the chip and mounted the heatsink in direct contact with the glass core. (350Mhz. running at the board's limit if 622Mhz.) The thermal paste did it's job, the core was just not able to conduct that much heat and became brittle.
