I will be pulling the starter off Friday having it checked. I will also remove the drive belt and try to hand crank the motor, pull the plugs and check them!

I have an idea that the engine is toast....but i'll confirm it before thinking of my next step (sell it, rebuild it, or use ant needed parts on my other fieros)!

Thanks for asking...i'll keep the forum updated!

It very much sounds to me that you want this motor to be toast, just my observation.

Take the sparkplugs out, and pour a small amount of light (machine) oil in each plug hole.Leave it for 20 minutes..see if it turns any quicker...if it does, it MAY indicate that the piston(s) seized. If it doesn´t make a difference, it won´t have done any harm..

Not sure if it has been mentioned,But it could be your tranny??
I had an automatic seize up on me (ONE day after a new motor install)took the crank right off the motor....
Put that sucker up off the ground, pop it out of gear and see if the wheels spin easy.I also had a auto that froze in drive.Made the real crappy exhaust tone.
Just a thought

Jazzman....
I would pray to god if it would make a difference and the motor isn't gone.......but i'm thinking realistically and from how the car acted when this happen (exhaust noise, temp gauge reading, failure to restart, failure to even crank strong). Mainly I want to think the worst because, thinking there is hope will lead to a big let down if it turns out to be terminal! God I hope it's not blown....This car was my favorite of all the fiero's i've owned (4 years without any major problems)

Thanks fierofetish for the suggestion, i'll give it a shot (this oil.....is it called light machine oil...is it readily available?).

indyelllowgt.....
The tranny is a good thought....I never reallly even concidered that (didn't know it could give these symptoms).
I did rescently replace the tranny cooler lines as they were leaking (about 4 weeks ago). Well I had a heck of a time re -routing them. I managed to get them on, filled it up with tranny fluid. I checked under the car for any leakage the day after and there was no leak so I assumed all was well. I never really thought about it again until you brought it up. Maybe I screwed something up when installing the lines or maybe I didn't put enough fluid back in the tranny....I will check this aswell!
I know it will coast if not in gear (I had to push it closer to the curb when the tow truck dropped it off)! I'll see how it feels in the air not in gear!

Again I would like to thank all that have responded.......I have reallly learned somethings from this thread!

Thank you all!
