Changing the instrument color isn't an easy thing to do. There's more to it than the orange paint on the inside of the bezel; all the gauge faces have an orange layer laminated in.

You'd have to change all the gauge faces to ones with a blue layer to make it look right - and as you've noted, these aren't going to be easy to fake.

There's two workable options - one is a set of Speedhut EL gauge faces; they've got them all including the HVAC panel. The other is to change the color of your stereo head unit. That might be easier; it's got an EL display (white) and all the color you see comes from color filters stuck to the front of the display....

Yeah, but where's the fun in that?
Is true, because they are backlit the numbers are orange on the faceplate. The offset lighting works a little differently as the light goes around the faceplate.

Question on the speedhut gauges. Can you get them without "SpeedHut" on them?

All of them that I have seen have it on there... That's one reason I was trying to steer away from them.

SIDE NOTE:
I peeled the front off of an extra HVAC that I was playing with...
My daughter said to try and use a 'Sharpie' that was blue and just color the backside of it... Coloring over the Orange..
Well, to make a long story short...
I tried it and using the Blue over the Orange that is 'built-in' to the face it came out a light PURPLE color...
So, Maybe I might be onto something, eh'..??
Orange + Blue = Purple

So, Orange + ????? = Blue <--- This is the question of the month!!
