I was searching this forum to find out battery CCAs and stumbled across a reference to a "braided ground strap" here:
https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Archives/Archive-000001/HTML/20030531-2-030915.html

Another bonus from a previous owner -- we don't have one!

The above post describes it going from the decklid hinge stud to the engine. But where on the engine? Once I buy the strap there's probably an obvious mounting location but it's out of sight on the far side of the engine. Makes it hard to look for. High up, low down, any advice appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Any good clean spot on the block or head should work. Make sure to have clean metal, paint will kill the ground.

Or from block to the frame on the transmission side.

This ground is vital!! All kinds of gremlins if you don't!

On the v-6 engines the braided ground strap connects between the passenger side deck lid hinge box and a stud just above cylinder number 2 on the head. No. 2 cylinder is on the front side (firewall side) of the engine on the passenger side.

Hope this helps,

Carroll

Actually, you should have both. One from the passenger side deck hinge to the block and one from the drivers side frame to a tranny bolt.
