With the Impala cradle you can bolt on a N*, S*, 3800, or just about anything.

So if you use the stock tranny the N* will bolt up? Nice, but if you go 5-speed it obviously won't, right?

Look at what I found. This is more like what I would make/buy.
And installed

From: Hi-Tec Development

HTD Rear Subframe

This is a custom designed unit to replace the factory subframe which allows for easy V-8 installations with our Eliminator kit. It comes with tubular lower contol arms to be used w/stock rear ball joints. The bumpsteer associated with the original design has been eliminated with this subframe. The V-8 engine is supported in the regular manner with no other extra support required. You can use the factory rubber mounts to eliminate all vibration coming from the power train, or the option to use urethane is available.

I cant say for sure that a N* will bolt up to an Impala cradle, I have never done that but from the pic's of N* cradles they look like they need the same mods. As far as the 5 speed goes I have not tryed that eather.
I dont see it beeing a problem for a S* 5 speed but a N* is a little longer so I just cant say if it wll work.

FieroGTSR how much do you think that HI-Tec Development cradle ill weigh in at?

That HTD cradle looks like real shitty design. I wouldn't trust it. Think about load paths, and then look at where the control arms mount. The designer didn't even attempt to triangulate. AND if I was going through all the trouble to make an aftermarket cradle, I would at least make provisions for a double wishbone suspension setup.

Crome moly would be better for this application then aluminum and it would be far easier to fab.

S* = Short star = Intrigue 3.5L DOHC 90degree v6
Just a wee bit more powerful than the 3.4 DOHC.

This is a "S*" Short Star= (V6 North Star)

This is a S* in a sand rail that makes about 250HP with minor mods.
