Dennis,

What hard parameters are you considering in your new chip (ie. What injectors are you using, have you replaced the fuel pressure reg, coil pack or disty, do you have a turbo map, etc.)?

I'd be interested, but I'm most likely ditching mine next year for most likely a grand. I did ask Ed Parks about the computer a while back and he told me the same things your pointing out

The chip in the Fiero ECM was optimized for a 2.8L with 8.5:1

Actually the 2.8l in Fiero's are considered High Output 2.8l's. The only difference is that the compression ratio is bumped up to 8.8:1

The Fiero 2.8L "H.O." does mean High Output, but it is in reference to the heads. The Fiero 2.8L has the larger valved heads. This is what made it a high output engine compared to the other 2.8L engines.
The compression ratio is 8.5:1 and had nothing to do with it's high output.

Westers Garage's dialed in a chip for my 3.4 that has been flawless. Took into programming the larger injectors and everyone of forty+ parameters and does it for a great price with free future upgrade programming for life!!!! My car took on new life after I installed his chip on my 3.4 conversion. I can't believe as many times as this has come up here that I'm still the only one on PFF (it seems) who is using one of his chips. Call him up and find out how comprehensive and "individualized for your car and mods" his programming is. You don't have to figure out what Lyndon at Westers has already mastered! CALL him! He's the nicest guy in the world.
1(403)377-cars(2277) One of the best calls I ever made! http://www.eidnet.org/local/westers_garage/
Has anyone else installed one of his custom programmed chips?

I drive a 3.4L with a turbo and 8 PSI boost. It has 24 lb hr. fuel injectors an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (but it is set to the stock setting right now) MSD Ignition System, special turbo cam, and many internal modifications. I am using a 2 BAR MAP with a chip of my own design. As for the changes over the stock chip program they are too long to detail. However, the VE/MAP/RPM, Main Timing Tables (MAP/RPM/Timing, Power enrichment values, rev limiter points, base pulse constant values, shift points etc etc have all been changed.
