. but this panic seems unjustified.. isn't this a flu..

Few people over the age of 20 have immunity to it, there is no vaccine for it, and no developed anti-viral treatment like the flu has.
NO, Coronavirus is not the flu!

It is a completely different pathogen and a completely different family of virus.
The only thing the 2 have in common are the symptoms.
These are the FDA approved prescription flu treatment medications:

oseltamivir phosphate (available as a generic version or under the trade name Tamiflu®),
zanamivir (trade name Relenza®)
peramivir (trade name Rapivab®), and.
baloxavir marboxil (trade name Xofluza®

Do they work for corona virus?
They aren't sure.

From what I'm reading its super contagious but the kill rate is on par with the flu.. correct?

Not minimizing it, just want to be practical and not fall into the heard panic if its not warranted.

I'm doing the face palm thing. I usually do with doomsday scares and the human stupidity is a source of endless amusement to me.

Some minor reasonable precautions and preparations I can see, but really if it's going to happen it's going to and there isn't Jack Sheet anybody can do about it. Just like more taxes ain't going to change the climate and Willie E. Coyote's umbrella ain't going to stop an asteroid, and the real zombie apocalypse is the sheeple now sitting on $5,000 worth of toilet paper when a 59-cent damp washcloth will do the same job.

All the quarantines and everything might slow it down some and that's all. The flip side is slowing it down prolongs it.

Yippee we're all gonna die... again.

lol Well I completely agree raising taxes is stupid lol

As for the virus.. I guess I'll just keep on keepin on and take precautions I CAN take and the ones I can't.. it is what it is. We are prepared for the panic but if a sickness comes through.. don't see how you can prepare for that.

As far as damp cloths... I live in Michigan and we have ice cycles lolol

It's just like Houdini's post about the checkpoint.

If they got as far as the checkpoint dontchya think the damage has been done and countless others who AREN'T from the flagged province (and won't be detained) have been exposed?

The lack of common sense is mind blowing.

Here's an upside to the corona virus.

March 8 (UPI) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he plans to deploy teenagers and the armed forces to disinfect public transit station in response to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country,

Netanyahu said the teens will work with the Israel Defense Forces to disinfect railway and bus stations citing that only one teenager in the country has tested positive for the coronavirus stating it is "not afflicting children or teenagers" although health officials say teenagers and children can still become infected and pass the virus to others.

Stable and better now..Mini stroke/ transient ischemic attack (TIA) is the thinking right now, but more tests tomorrow.
