Unrelated to the coronavirus: I spent most of the day there, as my wife had a neurological anomolay of some kind about 11am today and had to be transported by ambulance to the same facility that did my heart bypass in 2015. Stable and better now..Mini stroke/ transient ischemic attack (TIA) is the thinking right now, but more tests tomorrow. |

Had one myself about 5 years ago, no after effects that i know of. (Wife would argue otherwise, LOL)

I've spent lots of time at a hospital the last few days, so I know what the protocols are and the extent to which the medical community is going. Wife had what we think was a mini stroke/transient ischemic attack (TIA) Saturday and I had to call the paramedics and transport her by ambulance. Doing better now and may be released today. Have to wait and see what the neurologist says today. I have to get a new tire this morning since had a road hazard flat last night coming home and am "on the donut' now..
Appreciate everyone's thoughts/prayers and good wishes!
Pretty big hospital there in Kingwood Tx, and all doors are now closed to entrance/exit except ER. "Kingwood Medical Center is a full-service 373-bed acute care hospital, with more than 450 physicians, 1,500-plus healthcare professionals"
Everyone coming or going has to go thru the E-Room exit/entrance and everyone coming in is looked over and scanned with one of those point N shoot remote sensing thermometers.. Anyone with cough, cold, runny nose has to wear a mask. You have to wash your hands before entering the building beyond the littl foyer at E-Room and there are hand sanitizers on the walls EVERYWHERE now. In my old age, I've developed pine pollen allergy so I have the runny nose thing and had to wear the mask..not fun and I have never washed my hands this many times per day. They're taking it pretty serious and beginning this morning, they will only allow 25 total visitors at any time hospital wide and no visitors allowed between 6Pm and 6am unless (as the guy put it) "someone is dying or being born".[This message has been edited by maryjane (edited 03-09-2020).]

My wife and I have always been preppers. not cuz we are dooms dayers but just as an insurance policy kinda of thinking incase stuff like this happens. but this panic seems unjustified.. isn't this a flu.. if your healthy with no underlying issues your for the most part.. safe? Some how juveniles seem to be somewhat immune to this and the dead so far in America are elderly.
I'm watching this unfold and conflicted on his I should be rolling my eyes and face palm or gritting my teeth and getting scared
