Except for HPV, and perhaps HIV is it not true that most vaccines don't help once a person is already infected with a virus...IOW, they aren't therapeutic??

Vaccine was the translation but I bet it's not what we understand as a drug that gives immunity to a disease. I will have to ask further to see exactly what was meant. Something like Tamiflu or some other anti-viral drug or an actual vaccine or some combination.

This is not good: CPAC attendee tests positive for coronavirus
| quote | The American Conservative Union (ACU) announced Saturday that an attendee at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The patient in question was exposed to the virus before attending the conference and was tested for the disease in a New Jersey hospital, which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed as positive on Saturday. The patient is currently in quarantine in the hospital where they were tested.

You know there is going to be a lot of hand shaking and baby kissing going on over the next eight months.[This message has been edited by williegoat (edited 03-07-2020).]

It's going to happen. There is no way to completely isolate everyone. Thankfully it appears that this new virus will end up less deadly than the regular flu.

Medical security at the hospital we use is dang near air tight.
Hand sanitizer stations EVERYWHERE and masks handed out when you enter, and they have reduced the # of entrances and exits by at least 1/2. A table is set up at every entrance with gloves and masks and a quick question asking about recent travel and general health.
Unrelated to the coronavirus: I spent most of the day there, as my wife had a neurological anomolay of some kind about 11am today and had to be transported by ambulance to the same facility that did my heart bypass in 2015. Stable and better now..Mini stroke/ transient ischemic attack (TIA) is the thinking right now, but more tests tomorrow.

Here's hoping she has a complete recovery. I had a minor one three years ago, no further issues.

Damn! Know that she and you will both be in my prayers. Please feel free to let me know if there is anything, anything at all I can do. I know that there isn't much (if anything) but, I'm there if I can help.
