I honestly don't give a dang about Trudeau or how Canada decides to handle the mandates, that's their business. I don't support the mandates but, I do not believe truck drivers are any better than any other citizen. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If, border crossings require a COVID card for anyone then it's just as applicable to truckers. Other citizens should not have to pay a price for something they have no part of the decision. Remember Occupy Wall Street, The BLM protests, the Pipe Line protests.............. Lots of folks got all upset about that. Protest all ya want but, stay the hell off the roads. I'm not knocking the "Protest" but, they have no right to stop commerce or the rights of others to use that same asphalt. You can bet your bippy that truckers were bitching about those other protests blocking the roads.

But, while not attempting to take sides on this Canadian issue, I'd like to remind those in support that the next time someone has a problem with an issue, the same tactic could occur at your city. So, when some minority decides to block the roads and bridges in your city, enjoy it.

Totally understand your approach, but there is a very distinct difference between all the protests you linked:

Occupy Wall Street - Lot of mental illness, rape, and drug use in those camps, otherwise peaceful (discounting the rape and assaults)
Pipeline Protests - Probably the closest to the trucker protest, no one's hurt.
Black Live Matter Protests - If we're to include ANTIFA in this, which ... yes, because they're directly associated. It amounted to TRILLIONS of dollars in damages to PRIVATE property, and private citizens. Many people have been killed, lots of assaults, theft, and lots of rape.
Trucker Protests - Public land is being blocked off. While it does affect local business, for restaurants and convenience stores, this has brought tons of business. There is no violence or burning of buildings or any of the other non-sense.


I can support the right of those individuals (pipeline and occupy) to protest, without still getting annoyed at them. When I lived in DC... they were taking up park space outside the National Aquarium, and the place reeked of urine and feces, with weird stoned people walking around and homeless people jerking off in front of tourists while some stoned hippie played the guitar a few feet away. I haven't seen that on any of the news channels with the Trucker Protests yet.


All that said, I'm an American, and it's not my country (Canada), but I sure can hold an opinion on it. And I like to continually quote the Declaration of Independence (which the National Archives now considers offensive)...


"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."

For my Canadian friends... this is great advice. I'm pretty sure mask mandates, vaccine passports, mandatory vaccinations, and other nonsense are not part of the ... "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God."


I will say... with all the chaos that's going on, Democrats (or really I should say, radical left, not really Democrats)... there's an awakening. Even nonsense Republicans are not doing well right now. I would love to see a Constitutional Convention and get the states to retake their rights from the Federal government, including reclaiming the right to elect their own Senators through their legislative branches.

No. Just BILLIONS. Some number of billions of dollars. The actual insurance payouts for property loss and damage, something on the order of $2 billion for the whole of 2020, from "George Floyd" to the end of the year. Actually, if you focus just on how he did urban scenes and architecture (buildings), and disregard his underperformance in terms of representing the people in his scenes, he wasn't that bad. Somewhat meritorious, actually. (That's what I've seen in "TV Land" recently.)

But there's plenty else about him to bring his reputation down.

Trucker convoy: Here’s what the 10-day injunction against horns includes

I can't remember ever having a discussion about Hitlery's artistic prowess. But glad he had something to pass the time before he decided to kill however 10s of millions of people. TRILLIONS of people!
