7730 swap pinout (Page 1/2)
Camel AUG 12, 09:14 PM
I've been looking on Darths site, sinister, however everyone describes an "instructions sheet" for the swap and all I found was a short small list that showed a handful of the new sensor locations, not including the knock sensor.

I'm doing this on a 2.8 no DIS, anyone have the original pdf or can link it me? I just can't seem to think that the website has some links messed up.

Thanks in advance!

I've tried this, the file that states:

"How to convert a 2.8 Fiero ECM harness over to accept a 1227730 ECM when using a DISTRIBUTOR ($88 code mask)"

It shows a single page and looks to be incomplete, I emailed Ryan and he says that the instructions are there... maybe my file is corrupt.

Boy I feel like shamed, it was indeed my file corrupt on my phone. Something to do with the landscape orientation, once I deleted and download in landscape I can see the first page with makes total sense.

Wow, so embarrassed, thanks!!

I'm in the process of making a wire harness adapter, and something catches my eye.

I know hundreds of people have done this and it has worked, but does anyone know the answer to my following question?

Move pin A8 (Fiero) to A9 (7730)

All my schematics show A8 on the Fiero is serial data line, but two different 7730 schematic sheets show A8 is also the data line and A9 is actually blank. I understand we also move the ALDL to pin M from E but I just wanted to make sure A9 is the correct pin.

Well, I placed my order with Ryan (very patient and professional guy) today for a new chip burn, and asked him, he didn't really explain it but said "follow the instructions". So I guess I'll just place it on A9, I'm very confused about why that would work for the data line, but apparently it does or someone would have caught it after all these years.

A8 is probably tied to A9 inside of the ECM, so it probably doesn't matter which of these 2 pins you connect the serial data wire to.

Since the GM Spec sheet showed A8, I tried it both ways. They both work, but with using A8 (my experience/opinion) TunerPro connects a lot quicker it seems for logging. For easier troubleshooting in the future I have left it on A8 so someone after me can use the GM schematic and know what it is.
