Fiero VegasFest information (was the FOCOA National Show)

Note:
The official hotel, The Imperial Palace, is sold out for the weekend of the show. We still hope you can make it, but you'll need to check with other hotels.

The 4th floor is now blocked off for Fiero only parking (as of today, Wednesday), and will remain so until Sunday. When you arrive, bring your Fiero straight to the 4th floor of the garage. Look for classification signs (should be up by Thursday night) and park in your classification.

The conference room will be open all day and evening starting Friday afternoon. If you have any questions, need maps, a schedule, or just want to find fellow Fiero folks to hang out with, go to the conference room. Look at the hotel's TV information monitors for the location (will be on the 4th floor, forward section of hotel above the casino).

.

More information is available on the web site. Don't bother with preregistration, just register on Friday at the hotel.

This doesn't really have anything to do with the show, just the Imperial Palace... if you've never been there, the hotel has a premiere car collection, including vehicles belonging to Liberace, Hitler, etc. Admission is like $7, but if you go to their website you can get a coupon to get in for free.

Also, if you're reserving a room there, and taking along some sort of significant other, you might inquire about upgrading to one of their "Luv Tub" rooms (their name, not mine)... mirrors in strategic places, and a big honkin' two person tub... Interesting, to say the least...

(Edit) Oh yeah, and the IP has Sunday - Thursday rates of $35 now, instead of $49.

Cool, we'll try to arrange something for the group.

Oh, my! I had no idea, I've never stayed there. I might go there next week though, to tie up loose ends. I'll be alone, so no "love room," just sleep!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to ask our hotel rep about this, and post the info in the updates, above.

I'm glad you guys were able to get something going. I will likely go, but I still need to get the time off from work.

I think scaling down the trophies is a good idea too.....just as long as there is still a "best convertible" award!!

No, dude, still waiting! Looks like I'll be tied up next Saturday. I may be going down to Vegas and L.A. this week to tie loose ends for the show. Maybe we can meet at WCF and figure something out.

Hey Everyone... The website is now up where you can preregister for the 2003 Fiero VegasFest. As FieroBear said, any updates will be posted here as well as on the website that I have put together.

The website is informative enough to get the point across and nothing else, really. So hopefully people don't go looking for information on Fiero Parts and such!

See ya'll soon!

Charles, email him and ask.

Looks like there is a "summit meeting" developing for next Friday at WCF. Larry Hughes (president of the San Diego club) called me and said he'd like to meet when I'm there. I'll shoot for Friday.

Eric...you're gonna have company!

I doubt it. We like to move the WestFest show around to different places each year. Next year we plan to do a west coast 20th anniversary by combining the WestFest with the Northwest show at Mount Shasta, California. We should have 50-70 cars.

Also, Las Vegas is hot in the summer, sometimes VERY hot. We didn't pick the time and place for this year, we're just trying to rescue it for the folks who already have vacation plans made.

I should be here on Friday, however I will be gone to Goreman this weekend as it will be the last huge camping trip between myself and all of my buds before some of them go off and get married, military, etc...

On a side note, spent the weekend putting a tilt column in my truck, haha - 91 K5 Blazer with a 1985 Fiero Steering column, maybe I should even carry over the steering wheel

I look forward to meeting up with everyone this Friday - It will be nice to finalize everything

I'll check with the guy from the hotel tomorrow, make sure he's going to be available. It looks pretty good, though. I'd leave Wednesday morning, get into Vegas that night and get all my business done on Thursday. I'd head to L.A. so I can meet with the guys at WCF early afternoon Friday.

Some people have called WCF and said that they have been either having problems accessing the website I put together, or just plain haven't noticed the link, so here it is again! If you have any problems, you can call WCF at (310) 305-4111, or email me at fieroprereg@yahoo.com! Hope to see you all, soon!

PS: If plan on attending and showing your vehicle, ** NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE ** PLEASE goto the website and fill out the form! That will give us a good prospective on if we need to expand or not! Much Appreciated!

Crap ..... I wanna go, but it's today. I didn't know of it until now. Although the Pimperial Palace is a dive (don't know about the pimp deluxe rooms), rooms in vegas are for sleeping, so who cares if they suck or not. The Pimp Palace is huge, so it would accomodate a large car show, so that's cool. I second the motion for annual Fiero shows in Vegas. I should defintely have the N* in by then, so tentatively count me in. Even if it's semi-organized, Vegas rules!!! Have fun guys (not to be confused with fungi's).

We're trying to get Rie's car ready in hopes of bringing it to Vegas along with my T-top. I'm already registered but we aren't going to register hers till we know if it will be ready...

Where's the best place in central CA to get a windshield and have it installed?

oh yeah.. bump too!

Yes, it is going to be hot. Personally, I wouldn't pick Vegas for a car show in August, but there are several people who made reservations and took vacation time, so we're going to give them something to do.

It should be bearable in the parking garage. We're scheduling the show for 8am - 1pm, so we'll probably wrap things up before it gets too hot.

I am slowly but surely compiling a list of caravaner's leaving L.A. on thursday early morn. tentatively meeting at a mutually convenient location off of the 10FWY at 6AM...so as to beat the 5hr desert heat drive! Currently, folks who have commited include:

1. Moi (87 GT Stock)
