When I ran it, the chip I already had was rich enough at full throttle that it did not run lean, but Shaun has a lot more stuff done than I did. Looks good!

The injectors are probably not firing and the reason why it will start and then die is because the cold start injector is working, which only fires upon startup. Do you have any noid lights or a DVM?

It definately sounds like a Fuel delivery problem. 3100 injectors? Maybe too much fuel, you should only need 6
But if these are the injectors from the motor I bought the block, etc. from you they may be clogged, since the engine was test-fired before it was shipped the fuel may have turned to varnish. If you have the old injectors from the car originally, you could try re-installing them. What about those 17 or 19 lb injectors you had?
Good luck.

I used the primary throttle body to run the IAC tube to. I just cut the metal iac tube and put a piece of rubber hose between the two pieces that was long enough to reach the throttle body.

Well spraying carb cleaner keeps the engine running, and you have fuel pressure, Is the ECM good? It almost sounds like you are not getting the pulses from the distributor to actually fire the main injectors. I'd bet that the first time you started it and it ran until 1500 rpm, the engine was cold. You could be running off the cold-start injector or the ECM is killing the injector pulses once the engine appears slightly warmed up. I don't really know what could cause it, but from what you describe, it sounds that is the area you should concentrate on.

Happiness isn't around the corner... Happiness IS the corner.
Are you getting any codes? Also are you running the ECM in ign bypass mode? I would put a timing light on it to see if the spark quits and a test light on one of the banks of the injectors to see whether spark or fuel is turned off by the computer when (or just before) the eng dies. It seems like the computer is killing it due to ???
Too bad Daytona is such haul from down here or I would help out just to see the beast.

You're supposed to go to the beach for sand water & a burned face. Better go see the voodoo lady & see if she can change your luck, tho you did find out what was wrong with the injectors. What a story- & I thought my day was bad.

Shaun, I would remove the lower intake and clean it thoroughly, vacuum all of the ports and then plug each of them w/ a rag. Actually, vacuum up as much sand all over the engine and engine bay that you can. After that use compressed air one at a time on all of the intake ports that the valve was closed on and then go through the plug hole on any remaining cylinders (for a long time). I am assuming that the sand just went in injector ports right?
Anyway, I feel for you... with friends like that, who needs enemies.

It is not so much the 2 throttle bodies, but the lack of restriction to higher RPM's from the long runner Fiero intake. It was an experiment and a successful one.

Shaun, I don't see anywhere that equalizes the two tubes. What I mean is that both sides should probably be connected somewhere after the TB's to negate any possible flow inequalities from air filter plumbing, etc.
It will be interesting to see how smoothly it runs once you clean it out.
