Part of me still wants to help him, but then I think, what kind of message am I sending to him if I do that? He's a punk who needs to learn lying and trying to destroy someones reputation because of his own stupidity is a real bad way to get someone to help you. I know this makes me sound like a dick but I hope nobody helps him, at least with this project. He needs to learn a lesson.
I think it was abundantly clear at the outset that Tommy has some maturity "issues". Clearly he is accustomed to using threats, lies, profanity and anything but a mature approach to get his way. Giving in to him at this point only reinforces that behavior by confirming to him that his childish approach to his problems is the right way. You are doing him a favor by declining to deal with him any further. You're also doing yourself a favor as well.
There are plenty of other young Fiero owners here on PFF that are sterling examples of fine young men and women that our time and efforts are better spent on. Leave the punks to fend for themselves.

Just got off the phone with Michigan State Police. Tom actually called harassment on me. I explained the situation including the threats and the officer said he'd call Mr. DePetro and "take care of the problem for me". He was very friendly and knew Tom is full of BS.
He also chuckled when I mentioned the long block issue and commented "I don't think engines usually come that way" in regards to it being a 100% assembled engine.
Hopefully officer Winters chews him out. I'm not going to try and get him jailed as much as I'd like to. His tail is already between his legs. He's been shamed and exposed for what he is publicly. The false police report will be good ammo if he can ever get the "indi prosec." to help him sue me and "give him lawyer" for court.
I'm not sure if I've ever met someone so...ridiculously ignorant.

Tommy's more immediate problem is the inevitable mechanics lein against his car when he tries to put the muffler boys through the same shenanigans he's tried with you.
Tom just text messaged me asking for more help/advice getting the engine into the car. When I told him politely that he had cashed out his free tech support card when he called me a conman, he justified asking for my help by telling me it "would look better for me in court" and told me I was "pwned" on Pennock's. The sheer stupidity of this boy is astounding.

At this point, any additional help over and beyond what the original deal was for can be twisted in court as an admission of guilt or an admission of wrong doing on your part (even though it's not). For that matter, the posts in this thread can be used in court by either party. I'm not a lawyer, the instability of the purchaser makes me think that a "cya" approach may be prudent, keep everything above board, legal and documentated.

For the record, let me make it indisputably clear that IT WAS I who made note in this thread of Tommy having posted his phone number. Let me also make it perfectly clear that I have NOT called young Tommy and have no earthly intention of doing so. If the Michigan State Police would like to speak with me they are more than welcome to call me at any time. I'll be more than happy to forward my private cell number to you for that purpose David.

Having done this of his own initiative, he has little or no basis upon which to now be offended by his own invitation. the funny part to all this, is if he came on here in a humble and respectful manner, stating that he bought this motor thinking it had more than it actually did, and kindly asked for some help, he probably would have gotten free spare parts that some members had laying around, and even a local member to help him get the swap done, and done right....but no...he had to be a "ganksta"

Was the engine he bought the second one in your for sale thread? Seamed like a good deal. I really wish you had dynoed it before you pulled it, I would had loved to see how the work paid off. He might not ever get the engine in a running, and even if he did, he probably wouldn't show any results
It seems to me that YOU were slandered at the ouset of this whole thing, it was Tommy that decided to take it upon himself to try and discredit you in this public forum. That being said you will have a very strong case to sue young Tommy for slander. Any lawyer would take that case. Let alone all the threats etc. This forum is the biggest benefit to the newest Fiero owners, everyone knows that our little cars are as "different" as you can get and most mechanics dont want to touch them if they can help it. I have seen so many new owners both young and old come on here and ask the most basic of questions over and over and for the most part they are answered with the same care and courtesy as if we had never heard it before, it all has to do with the attitude of the asker!!!
