Family visiting us and my BIL and I made a trip to Crenshaw Mississippi to pick up an antique tricycle gear International Harvester he owned there. The tractor hasn't run in years and I personally would have hauled it to the scrap yard but, it's not mine.

Regardless, when we pulled into his overgrown property, I saw a bright shiny thing reflecting the sunlight, down the hill in the 3 to 4 foot tall brush somewhat behind a building. So, once we had the trailer lined up to load, I went back there to check it out.

It was a 2023 fiberglass johnboat on a new looking trailer and motor, (the boat looked almost new) had gas in the tank and the battery was good, all the lights worked as they should. Had several built-in compartments with lids, a pretty nice fishing boat. Told my brother in law, something is wrong here, he doesn't own a boat. So, with his agreement, I called the county Sheriff. A deputy came out and it wasn't long before a game warden showed up.

I asked the Game Warden what a boat like this would cost new, I was shocked at his response. He said $20/$25 thousand. He showed me where all kinds of different things were wired to and mounted. Fish Finder, depth finder and a other things that had already been removed. Turns out, the boat was stolen last week in Southern Mississippi, a long way south from Crenshaw. Being honest, it felt good doing this. I offered to store it for the game warden but, he thought it best if he took it to the Impound Lot.

All those missing pieces are probably all over Farcebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

I have no idea, the rightful owner may have removed that equipment prior to parking the boat and trailer or, you could be correct.
