I’ve always wondered if this was illegal? (see pic below) Yes, I know some Jeeps have clip on doors, some vehicles like Can Am’s, Ariel Atoms and what not didn’t have doors from the factory but……, if a vehicle did come with doors (like the one in my pic) I thought it was a requirement as far as keeping the occupants fully inside the vehicle in case of a crash or rollover?
Your thoughts? Kit

According to ChatGPT it’s legal to drive without doors in all 50 states, but you must still comply with your state’s mirror requirements. If your vehicle’s mirrors are mounted on the doors, you’ll usually need to relocate them when driving doorless. Whether a passenger-side mirror is required depends on state law. In some states, such as Pennsylvania, the doors must be reinstalled for vehicle inspections even if they’re not required for everyday driving.

Ok, thanks Cliff.
Ok, understood. In hindsight, I should have checked the drivers side to see if he had a mirror over there.

Yea, well ... I have a Jeep CJ7. The doors (2) lift off and the mirrors are attached to the windshield frame. Which is legal to fold down and drive.

Kitskaboodle, I am curious as to why you asked.
