I posted this question earlier, but it was kind of buried in a comment, that was buried in a different thread. Figured it deserved its own thread.

I'm using Thunderbird on my PC to connect to Comcast email, through a different ISP. We are not using Comcast for internet service, or for anything else, other than email.
We have fiber internet, provided by a partnership with the local power company. Fast AF, but they don't provide any services other than a router with wifi, and a fiber "pipe". No email or other "content".
You can imagine the level of support that we (don't) receive from the Comcastards. Anything that goes wrong is "not their problem", even if it is.
The price (free) is hard to beat, but I'm ready to be done with them. It's just not worth the hassle.

Can anyone recommend a good email provider?
One of my friends recommended Proton Mail. All well and good, but really maybe more than I need. I'm not too worried about my emails being intercepted/read. I don't really send or receive anything critical. But it's always an option.
So, what are some other options? I don't want GMail. Been there, done that.
And I still want to use my Thunderbird mail client (which really shouldn't be a big deal. Just worth mentioning.

What say ye?
Thanks!

You can actually run your own mail server on a Raspberry Pi. All you need is a domain name. I'm sure there are tons of tutorials around on how to do that.

That might be an option, but sadly, I lack the time - and more importantly - the expertise, to do that.
As long as the Raspberry Pi has been around, I have never bothered to learn them. (I kind of try to choose my battles. )
