Vs. 10 credits = $5 Pharmacy & Health ExtraBucks Rewards.
Many to Most have 90-day scripts that get 3 credits & get $5 very fast. In many cases will get $50 limit every year. & that's even when you don't have several scripts to get in short window of time.
Then many will go to store or online & use that + coupons for deep discount for 1 or more items.
This "Quicker and easier" plan is maybe to save CVS money because they know a lot of people won't bother for $2 or less before short expire dates + is hoping to push more people to Pay
$5 a month for CarePass.

In my family & because have several 90day/3credit scripts is maybe to hit the $50 limit even faster because 1 visit get 6 9 or more credits easy so get $4 or more rewards.
4Ref: CVS allows 90-day scripts since it bought out Caremark Mail Delivery & is why many stopped going to others that can't fill 90-day scripts.
Before that... While many could use Caremark to get 90-days, has very big problems on top of Mail Theft in the USPS & outside so used local stores even tho most I-co's authorize only 30-day scripts including CVS stores before that.
Note: This ignores that you can get ExtraBucks Rewards for buying things in the retail section of the store too. This can change a lot from account to account because of many reasons. Example: Some get 2% as rewards on retail & others don't because how much business or not. 2% is pennies of rewards for many even then. Or you buy X product in Y amount to get Z ExtraBucks...
