The song

Review

Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
I know it's true
It's all because of you
And if I make it through
It's all because of you

[Chorus]
And now and then (Ah-ah)
If we must start again (Ah-ah)
Well, we will know for sure
That I love you

[Verse 2]
I don't wanna lose you, oh no, no
Abuse you or confuse you
Oh no, no, sweet darlin'
But if you have to go (Go), away (Ah-ah-ah)
If you have to go, well you the reason [?]

[Chorus]
Now (Now) and then (And then)
I miss you (I miss you)
Oh, now (Now) and then (And then)
I want you to return to me
'Til you return to me

[Verse 3]
I know it's true
It's all because of you
And if you go away
I know you could never stay

[Chorus]
Now (Now) and then (And then)
I miss you (I miss you)
Oh, now (Now) and then (And then)
I want you to return to me
Now (Now) and then (And then)
I miss you (I miss you)
Oh, now (Now) and then (And then)
I want you to return to me
Now (Now) and then (And then)

I suspect the lyrics were still being worked on by John, but nevertheless, it's great that AI was able to help construct a final finished product that would've previously been impossible to create.

John was probably easy to work with but Paul was known to be very demanding and hard to work with. He took Mary Hopkin to task in his song Goodbye, (which was a big hit for her) and it is said the experience is why she returned to her roots of just doing folk songs afterwards.

This is the song I remember Mary Hopkin best for. It was released in 1968. I've always liked it, but the older I get, the more it hits close to home.

I just sort of stumbled across the official video for this "new" Beatles song. Wow... honestly, it blew me away. It's very very well done.

Agreed.....maybe Jackson should be labeled the 6th Beatle....or 7th or something....he "gets it". Just my humble opinion of course.

Like them or not, familiar with their work or not...aware or not....they (The Beatles) changed the world, and are still doing it!

The technology he had at his disposal to "lift" John's voice from the combined vocal/piano track, and to seamlessly mix the various film and video sources (separated by 60 years!) together is simply mind blowing. This is definitely the positive aspect of AI technology... combined with brilliant and creative people.

For those of us old enough, watching this video is like entering a time machine and going back six decades. It brings back a lot of memories, and not necessarily all Beatle orientated. The fact that the song is also very much a melancholy tune certainly enhances the experience. For me... it's kind of an emotional roller-coaster of a journey.

Heard this on my way to work today. It does seem an extension of where John was coming from when recording Double Fantasy. Great to see the video and the memories it brings.

I'll have to listen to it some more. It's good. It's different. It's unmistakably the Beatles. But I have to listen to something several times before I can wrap my head around it and appreciate it.
I kind of compare this to the new Stones album. It's absolutely the Stones. It's absolutely new. But I haven't made up my mind whether I actually like it or not.

The Mary Hopkin links were fun. Thanks! Haven't heard those in half a lifetime. Never realized that Goodbye was a McCartney song, but it fits. Sounds just like his style.
