My wife had a whole bunch of these "Go-Go Squeezes" that she bought at the HEB... back when we lived in Texas exactly two years ago. They are all natural, no chemicals, just fruit... mostly apples, but some strawberries and some other fruit, but 80% apples. They had expired just shy of a year ago, and had been kept in a closet / pantry that typically sits at about 80 degrees because it's next to the water heater (which is now gone since we've gone to a tankless).

Never the less, I've never been one to be wasteful, so when she tossed them, I took one out and put it in the fridge and said, they can't be that bad. I ate one (squeezed it all in my mouth), and within 20-30 minutes, I started to get really dizzy. I ate it on basically what was an empty stomach because it was in between lunch and dinner, so I just wanted something to tide me over. Eventually, I started to get nauseous... like how you might get when you were in your early 20s and you mixed three kinds of liquors after a hard night of drinking. I eventually had to lay down because I couldn't stand anymore, and was starting to get goofy.

I looked up on my phone (room was spinning) if applesauce can ferment. Sure enough... that's what happened. I thought it seemed sour, but I figured maybe they used used Granny Smith apples or something.

Dude... that's what I get for eating expired food.

I am glad you don't need bail money for "driving while applesauced".

How much/often do you normally drink?

Did it get you more 'buzzed' than a beer or glass of wine?

It might have been your blood sugar, or something else that made ya go sideways...

If you have more of them, and you are curious, you can test the alcohol content with this (on Amazon) "Triple Scale Alcohol Hydrometer(2 pcs)and Test Jar for Home Brew, Wine, Beer, Mead, Cider & Kombucha - Combo Set of 250ml Plastic Cylinder, Cleaning Brush, Storage Bag - ABV, Brix and Gravity Test Kit" 16 bucks. It'll measure 0-20 percent and is re-usable.

Might be a neat "Side-S.T.E.M." segment thing for your daughter's channel.

And that's all I have to say 'bout that.

The blood sugar thing you mention has me worried. I'm a pretty healthy guy, and don't really have any issues with that, so hopefully it's not that?

I don't really drink that often, but once in a while I'll have a gin & tonic, or a single beer, and it doesn't really affect me. Once in a while, I'll take a small glass of whiskey and drink it straight. But like... I might have an alcoholic drink once a month, maybe twice a month? But I really don't drink all that much. I could pound like 20 beers when in college... but that's not something I do now! haha...

Yeah, that would be pretty cool. Maybe I'll save a couple of them. Trash doesn't go out until tomorrow.

1 ( or 2 even 5 ) instances of higher than normal glucose(blood sugar) per month is not AT ALL unusual.
If concerned (and your age or older all should be) have your a1c checked. Nowadays, almost any clinic can do it and have results backalmost instantly with just a finger stick.

I recall my uncles drinking hard cider. They would let cider ferment then when it got cold out sit the jugs in the snow. The alcohol would not freeze and they could filter the slush and get drunk quicker.

Maybe, drinking spoiled packaged foods is a bad idea.

I might as well get it checked out... I was healthy during my last doctor's visit (which was about a year ago), but I know that working from home has not been the best for me... haha...

Makes a lot of sense, this is literally how I felt.

Nah, it wasn't that. I was feeling this within 20-30 minutes of drinking it.
