What an amazing discussion! When I set this up, I was thinking mostly of Dr Fauci and the updates that he provided on the Covid-19 pandemic, especially the news about the impending approval of a third vaccine under the FDA Emergency Use Authorization proviso, the long term effects that patients can experience, even after recovering from an acute Covid-19 infection, and the "holy grail" of Covid-19 therapeutics research.
I referenced Rachel Maddow in the Subject field or title of this topic because of circumstance. The interview was part of the Rachel Maddow show. But I had no idea that there would be so much interest in Rachel Maddow, or that there would be an upwelling from the deep of so many Rachel Maddow-related images and memes.
As a reaction to this unanticipated energy and appetite for "Maddow memorabilia" I have found some very brief biographical information about the well known MSNBC weekly prime time anchor and the four books that she is credited with authoring or co-authoring.
First the "bio"
| quote | Rachel Maddow has hosted the Emmy Award–winning Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC since 2008. Before that, she was at Air America Radio for the duration of that underappreciated enterprise. She has a doctorate in politics from Oxford and a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Stanford. She lives in rural western Massachusetts and New York City with her partner, artist Susan Mikula, and an enormous dog. |

Prospective readers, or anyone who might be looking to gift someone with a book that they think would "float someone's boat" or just look good on a bookshelf or coffee table could avail themself of this online reference page at ThriftBooks:
https://www.thriftbooks.com...achel-maddow/200991/If you are just coming to this discussion for the first time, or have not been following it closely from the start, I want to remind you that my fingers are very much crossed, hoping for the success of the Icosavax IVX-411 Covid-19 candidate, which I think could become a "player" in 4Q 2021. It's based on the very novel VLP or Virus Like Particle approach to vaccine design.
| quote | Our lead vaccine candidate for COVID-19 is a self-assembling protein nanoparticle that displays 60 copies of the SARS-CoV-2 "spike" glycoprotein receptor-binding domain in a highly immunogenic array. . . . Icosavax has received a $10 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation . . . |

The Icosavax "Pipeline"; 4Q 2020.https://www.icosavax.com/icosavax-vaccine-pipelineAs a layman and certainly a layman in this field, I claim no expertise, but I was so excited to read about the way that this vaccine has been designed, that previously in this discussion I found
intersectionality between this vaccine candidate and a very coveted sports car. I also saw a connection with one of the most singular feature length movie dramas of the second half of the 20th century. It's like a podcast, except you would just be looking at it; you cannot listen to it.
