All,
I am a fan of all generations of the Corvette and put together this analysis to help those that might be contemplating a Corvette purchase in the future.

This is an OBJECTIVE review of NON-Z06 Models, based on numbers and facts.

I agree. It is a fact, the C8 is the 2nd GM mid engine plastic body automobile!!!

b/t/w Rumor is the C8 shop that makes the frame stayed somewhat in production during the shutdown- frames are the weak link in part production volume needed to keep the line going when it does fully open back up....

How much could we piss someone off to rebadge the C8 "Fiero"! Considering how a guy freaked out about my buddies 68 Camero not being original, a lot.

Since we have supplied the new C8 badging to GM I took the liberty of already doing so. My Fiero does have a Corvette LT1.

When I was at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour in Chicago last year a guy walking around in full Corvette memrobilia gave me the thumbs up and shook my hand when I called it a C8 prototype.

I enjoyed the review. My only minor quibble would be the Kelly Blue Book price comparison. Why did you compare prices between models that were a full ten years difference in age? Wouldn't it have been fairer to have compared the price of the last year of the C5 with the first year of the C6?

Totally understand your point. My thinking was that I wanted to give a general idea about how much MORE it would cost to go from a mid/late year C5 to a mid/late year C6. Basically a decent C6 is going to cost you 8k more than a decent C5.

Perhaps I could have included both to at least show the differnce in an 04 C5 and 06 C6 in price. Probably about 3-4k.

Thanks for the comment!

I would too. I agree, it is a C8 prototype. For sure. Sounds like we both took the Fiero TEN steps further!!

I stopped off at the Quicksack
For some beer and cigarettes
The old man took my money
As he stared at my Corvette
He said, I had one just like her son
A nineteen-sixty-three
Till the man down at the
Bank took her from me

Oh, She was hotter than a two-dollar pistol
She was the fastest thing around
Long and lean, every young man's dream
She turned every head in town
She was built and fun to handle, son
I'm glad that you dropped in
She reminds me of the one I loved back then

Then, I handed him my keys and said
Here, take her for a spin
The old man scratched his head, and said
Then he looked at me and grinned
He said son, you just don't understand
It ain't the car I want
It's the brunette in your 'Vette that turns me on

I had one that was hotter than a two-dollar pistol . . . .

The One I Loved Back Then (The Corvette Song) (1985)

written by Gary Gentry and recorded by American country music singer George Jones
