The great Pharaoh's mummy was rapidly deteriorating when a team of experts was assembled in France to help preserve his remains. The catch? The mummy had to be flown aboard a French military transport from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, to Paris. The Egyptian government, under the Presidency of Anwar Sadat, provided the mummy with a
passport to underscore the very firm expectation that the (very) late Pharaoh would be returned to Egypt after his "hospitalization" in France. The preservation included intensive radiation therapy to kill the multitude of parasitic fungus species that were causing the mummified body to deteriorate.

The mummy was accorded the customary honors (more or less) of a visiting (and breathing) foreign head of state when it arrived in Paris.
In retrospect, the episode has something of the character of the "corpse-centric" movie comedy hit "Weekend at Bernie's"--but that wasn't a "thing" until some 13 years later, in 1989.
Call it a "slow day" here. But not untypical.
