I confess. That is hyperbole, on my part. An intentionally "over the top" wording of this forum topic.
Would you believe a calmly reflective Fareed Zakaria offered up a veritable litany of numbers and an eye-catching pie chart, in his newly published critique of Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders's idea of a zero (carbon) emissions power grid for the U.S. by 2030?
Fareed Zakaria, CNN commentator and WaPo columnist, has just critiqued Bernie Sander's ideas about how to decarbonize the national electrical power grid.
| quote | The [Bernie] Sanders green energy “plan” is based on magical thinking. It presumes that we can reduce emissions in electricity and transport to zero in 10 years while simultaneously shutting down the only two low-emission, always-available sources of power [natural gas and nuclear] that together provide nearly 60 percent of our country’s electricity. And that makes me wonder: Is the real problem that Sanders will lose — or that he might win? |
