Tim Tebow,
Tebow became the Florida Gators' starting quarterback during the 2007 season when he became the first college sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy. In 2008, Tebow led Florida to a 13–1 record and its second national championship in three years, and was named the offensive MVP of the national championship game.Click to show.
He also was drummed out of the NFL for celebrating his touchdowns with a kneel to God. Even though his Heisman Trophy win in 2007 was the first by a sophomore.
What has he been doing since ? I am glad you asked !
Well, many things, including a baseball career. Also, he started a foundation. Of which one of the beneficiaries are the special needs citizens of our country.
Fast forward to last night. At the
"Night To Shine" gala . Hosted all over the world.
Don't hold your tears back.
The wife and I have been caring for a special needs person for 15 years. Since my wife's Mom could no longer do so, even though she adopted her (and another) for many years.
Many things are done for our special needs citizens. One being the
Special Needs Olympics Which is special !
What Tim Tebow has done is also special.
What is The Night To Shine ? It is amazing !
It was held in over 600 locations.
The video is not descriptive enough. Night To Shine is a well pre-planned event. Let me more descriptive.
Our special needs citizens are pre paired with volunteer escorts. They walk in and are more throughly made presentable for this very special event. Including the special needs gals getting a tiara and and the special needs guys getting a crown.
They were then announced (by names ) and they walked down a "red carpet" with moving spotlights and camera flashbulbs going off.
They walked down the red carpet to a ballroom, where dancing ensued and dinner was served.
A too long of a story short. Those special needs citizens were treated special ! My awe goes out to all that volunteered for this special cause. They are special too. We can also be special,
.
