A group of incensed Antifa protesters surrounded the home of FOX News star Tucker Carlson on Wednesday night. They rang the doorbell and chanted, calling the conservative host a "racist scumbag" for his support of the border wall.

As an Army Veteran, I still find it amusing and a bit distressing after all these years to see a term used in military tactics used as a noun modifier, (adjective), to a civilian semi-automatic rifle.
Ironically, and properly, the United States military doesn't even refer to rifles, such as the fully automatic M4, as "assault" rifles.
Most unfortunately, it was the firearms industry itself that added the term "assault" to their civilian rifle products that have styling features similar to solely military weapons but lack the full automatic capability that was legally banned in 1934. It was a "marketing ploy" that has proved to be very troublesome.
Obviously, your using the term in reference to a pistol is meant to be wryly humorous, but the sad thing is that it probably isn't too far from becoming commonplace for a rabid and ignorant anti-gun left.

Yup...
The argument always is that guns are only meant to kill. And, let's not beat around the bush... that's exactly right. But... our second amendment was SPECIFICALLY given to us, to protect ourselves from the government, should it decide that it wants more than is legally authorized. This is a UNIQUELY American policy, one which speaks volumes about how excellent our Constitution is. Many of us take an oath to serve and protect it, and that's not an oath taken lightly.
It's also extremely important to recognize why Democrats are so adamant about getting rid of the second amendment.
Democrat policies are usually and generally unconstitutional. That's why the Supreme Court and the 2nd Amendment are such problems for them.
Funny thing is, most Democrats (voters) are so oblivious to what they support, they just go from one emotionally charged topic to another, never really understanding what they are actually supporting, or who's pushing the agenda that they're blindly agreeing to. These are people who are so desperate to be a part of something greater than themselves, that they often see each successive emotional plea as the next "high" for them.
