Net Neutrality doesn't exist as regulation to prevent a monopoly. That's what Anti-trust laws are for.

Unfortunately, in most of the US, various utility companies have monopolies in many localities. You can only get electric from X if you live in town Y for example. Or you can generate your own, off grid. Luckily there are additional regulations on utilities companies, so that even if they are the only outfit in the area, pricing has to remain fair and such.

They are not playing favorites.. the OWN direct tv..
now if they didn't own it and gave the service for direct tv and say not to dish network.. then he'd have a point..

If I own the company.. I can give my customers the service.. as a perk, bonus . That is MY choice ..
T mobil gives free music and movie streaming..

Why is it, people complain when a company is offering something for free.. ???
This is the same type stupid as those that complained that Microsoft o/s came with a internet brouser .. instead of filing a law suit they should've just made their product better.. so people would want it.. but no..

Give free access to DTV or whatever Is Not The Same Thing as Zero Rating the data used to access that service.

These Companies, FCC and DOJ know that Most users will use any Zero Rated services that avoids Data Caps.
Data Caps and Zero Rating data is another way to say some services get a fast lane w/ true unlimited data thru the ISP network Because once you reach the Cap, Most services will craw or be useless But Zero Rated data will not. Exactly what Net Neutrality is trying to prevent.

For proof All they need is to look at MS Antitrust cases for US EU and S Korea... (Google has Antitrust problems in the EU and other places right now.)

DOJ and EU would say you are a Compete Moron regarding MS Antitrust case saying people would use Best software. (United States v. Microsoft Corp.)
Netscape and others were very good but many were shareware or otherwise payed software at the time but MS threw in IE WMP and IM as part of the OS Knowing full well that Most Users with use Free Bundled Software vs Anything DL even when software is free and/or better as Netscape and others were. A direct result Netscape Co went bankrupt and Browser software became Mozilla Browser before Mozilla.org had FF. IE still controls ~55% of Total Market share but yet "Everyone" knows IE is crap? Riigghht...

Part of EU settlement MS was Force to make N versions of (at minimum) XP, Vista, and 7 w/o WMP and with a menu of most available Browsers... Then recently EU claimed MS try to stop this in 7SP1 and got fined millions of € for the effort.
S Korea also has Win XP thru 10 KN versions w/o WMP and IM for same reason.

1000x this.

Keeping the net neutral is keeping the net free, free for new businesses, free for individuals, and free from big businesses running it.

At this point, cell phone and internet access are no longer luxury services, they are public utilities. Every person in this country should have equal access to food and water and that holds true with the internet as well. Even more importantly, the ISPs should follow the same rules as municipal water and power companies, OR, the lines and infrastructure need to be publicly available for use by any and every ISP.

I messed up current market share...
Chrome Browser is ~55% because Many phones tablets etc runs Android or Chrome OS. As noted: Google has Antitrust problems too.
IE 21.66% still almost 2x % of FF
FF 11.91%
MS Edge is now 5.21% and Growing and means MS still controls ~27% when added to IE. Over 2x % of FF

Many think IE and Edge blows but MS controls most of PC space of the world directly because is the Default Browser that's part of the Windows for most Users.

All the rest Total <6%...
Safari 3.61%
Opera 1.36%
Proprietary or Undetectable 0.23%
Konqueror 0.01%
Android Browser 0.01% because some old phones still uses this and often can't upgrade to Chrome.

Until a few years ago... IE ran 50-70% share and is part of why MS tried Windows Phone and Cheap Tablet but way too late and failed both.
