Anybody know of a decent SIMPLE and FREE photo editing program ?...something like Kai's used to be on W98 ?

I've got 5 or 6 pictures I want to overlay some text on, some straight line and some curved/ slanted (couple different colors to the text too)....what SHOULD be a simple job has turned into 3 hours of downloading and trying every-damn free editor I can find, and not ONE SINGLE ONE so far will do it simply and easily.

I'm not interested in spending a week learning a new program, just slap some letters over the picture !

I'm telling you, man; GIMP is the way to go.

PhotoScape does everything I need and free.

Paint will do simple stuff too and it's already installed if you are running Windows.

My personal favorite is Paint.net. It's like MS Paint on steroids.
