Not many know that he was also very good on the guitar. He released 1 instrumental album featuring just his guitar...no vocals. I first heard it on loan from the public library in 1977.

He must be one of those Nashville Cats.

According to the article in the "Tennessean", he received his first mandolin at age 3.
