Thanks.

I already have the bluetooth unit. I'm looking to hook up an unused smartphone to monitor some stuff on my diesel truck. I want to use a cable so I don't have to pair the bluetooth every time I start the truck. I would also like to be able to charge the phone constantly while it is plugged in. Will the cable do that?

What do guys running tablets for instrument clusters do?
