Just wondering if you are satisfied with it. We have CenturyLink, but not Prism, and they are bugging the crap out of us to get it.

We have the DirectTV/Century Link internet bundle which saves $5 per month over the purchased separately price. Not much of a savings but the internet phone is much more expensive than even MagicJack and service is free from Google (if you buy your own equipment). Also, everyone has a cell phone so why buy a land line or internet phone?

Thing to watch out for on the three-service deal is the second year cost. The fine print says the price is only good for one year of a two year agreement.

edit: Also, Century Link service was awful here previously but they recently put in fiber into the neighborhood which helped internet speed tremendously. Upload speed is still poor so stay away from DSL if you upload large files or you are still on copper pairs.

I need a landline phone for business, and its my main line for security system (cellular back up if disconnected). I might spend a few hours at a time looking for parts so Id end up with a $1,000 @ month cellphone bill. I also like my business phone and personal phones separate. I dont want people calling me on vacation to get an estimate. My cellphone bill is $35 @ month for maybe 30 minutes time. You cant afford to run a business on a cell phone. I still also use a fax machine to contact dealers and insurance companies. Much more reliable than emails.

Yeah, our landline is for when we HAVE to give someone a phone number but we know we don't ever want to talk to them.

I don't know about that Roger, my buddy uses his for business and he has unlimited free incoming calls but he does have to pay for outgoing calls but also has 1,000 min a month. I think he told me once he only pays like 80 bucks a month, but he unlike you gets those calls at all times for estimates on electrical work. I have no idea who his provider is or WTF ever they are called.

Yeah, for $35/month you can get unlimited data, talk and text from Virgin Mobile.

The high speed data is limited to 250 MB/month but lower speed data and voice is unlimited.

Yes, but the plan I got on TV shopping plan, is NOT limited or throttled. You cant buy it from any carrier I know of. If Id kept my verizon 'card', it was unlimited and unthrottled too at the time I stopped it. That is why I regret it. In one month after I got it, I watched prob 100 hours of tv, using 4G and 3G access. I watched Hulu and You tube streaming for full weekends in the RV. Now that I have a dish on it, I dont use it, but wont get rid of it and lose it...since I cant replace the same plan with anything close. So for $35, its just cheap back up, or I use it like in a waiting room to watch. The ONLY limit on the Verizon deal was I could not leave it on data for a continuous 24 hour period. I could leave it on. strea, omg for 20 hours, turn it off a few, then back on though. So I could run it 20 hours a day for the full month if id wanted. I am limited with VM to 300 phone minutes @ month. Ive used 10 mins in the last year.
