The civil rights activist, 37, made the announcement in an open letter – posted on Facebook – to the organization’s executive committee and members.
“It is with complete allegiance to the cause of racial and social justice and the NAACP that I step aside from the Presidency and pass the baton to my Vice President, Naima Quarles-Burnley,” she wrote.
Dolezal said that her administration in Spokane has been dedicated to fighting against injustices that face the African-American community, such as police brutality, biased school curriculums and economic disenfranchisement.
“And yet, the dialogue has unexpectedly shifted internationally to my personal identity in the context of defining race and ethnicity,” she wrote.
According to Dolezal, challenging the “construct of race” is central to “evolving human consciousness.”
However, she said, this conversation should not distract from the big issues that affect millions, often with life or death consequences.
Dolezal vowed to always fight for “what is right and good in this world” and thanked everyone who had supported her throughout the media firestorm.
Last week, the woman’s ethnicity became a major news story after Lawrence and Ruthanne Dolezal, a white couple from Montana, identified themselves as her biological parents.
They said that their daughter is mainly of German and Czech descent, despite having identified herself publicly as biracial.
The NAACP released a statement Friday in support of Dolezal.
It says the NAACP stands behind her advocacy record and that a person's race does not qualify or disqualify him or her from taking leadership roles within the organization.
Dolezal received her master’s degree from Howard University and teaches Africana studies at Eastern Washington University.

I do believe when she was at Howard U she sued the university for reverse discrimination because she was white! I guess the NAACP neglected to run a background check when the hired her for her now past position. I wonder if she's going to try and move back home now that the gravy job is gone
During her interview with Matt Lauer, her deceptions and deflections were on full. But, she sure looked proud of her "accomplishment". Her "children" looked comfortable when shown on camera. BTW, showing the kids at the end was a nice touch.
Transracial? Did she say she was the first person in Idaho to be identified as transracial? A true pioneer. Heck, she has it all. White guilt. Black oppression. Her brothers are her children. Born to white parents, but with a black "dad". Minority at college. The college did her wrong. White America did her wrong. She has been a multiple victim of racial hatred. She is a "survivor".
"Survivor"? What did she survive? This bothers me. The use of words to fit one's agenda. All the while demeaning the actual meaning of the word in the process. There are REAL survivors. All defined differently, but actual events occurred that coined the term. Not just because you survived your childhood. The norm is entitlement.

For a second there I thought you were talking about obama care Politics, same same, no shame in blame, defaming or lying to get what they want.

Self-loathing combined with a desire to be part of "the honorable opressed underclass." She wants to wear victimhood as a badge of honor. As you mentioned, wanting to help others is a nobel cause but apparently she only wants to do it based on her self-perceived race. It's not about her actions or character, but her actions within the context of her advertised race.
It is truly sad and the exact opposite of what the civil rights struggle was all about. Race shouldn't matter but in her mind *she* only matters if she presents herself as black.
It's still dishonest and fraudulent no matter whether she calls it transrace, transfat or transweave. There's nothing wrong with identifying with black people and black culture and adopting that lifestyle (other than the assumption that black life is different than any other color life). She didn't need to lie to do that.

Selfishness. Poor me. Pity. Those are the reasons for deception.
The purpose served her. If you have not noticed, the trend with her is that is always been someone else's fault. The deception runs so deep, and the single mindedness so beset, that mental disease comes to mind.

And she made a career out of it. Look at some of the incident's she used for publicity, she claimed to have gotten racist, threatening, unmarked mail in her PO box. It narrows the possibilities down to her or someone in the post office. I highly doubt the police wouldn't have been able to figure it out if it wasn't her.
If she's a liar that should disqualify her. In my opinion.

Racial, on the other hand, has reported at least eight to the Spokane PD, two of them involving nooses, another swastikas on a door after someone “mysteriously” turned off the surveillance cameras.

Whatever the plumbing, Jenner is “transgender.” So some are saying Racial is “transracial,” whatever that is. Actually, it’s more like she’s “pan-victim.” In a document released by the Spokane PD, she claims she’s not only black, but Native American.
She’s also on the record as saying she’s a victim of date rape, although of course she never reported the incident to the police. How Rolling Stone was it, Racial?
Now she is going on MSNBC, to be interviewed by Melissa Harris-Perry, one of four black MSNBC on-air employees outed this year as tax deadbeats. No wonder the network motto is “Lien Forward.”
So Racial has one more chance to prove she is entitled to Check the Box and get into Harvard Law School, no questions asked. Produce an overdue tax bill, and at the very least you’ll get your own show on MSNBC. You go, girl. Go away.
