Netflix original series by Marvel. Daredevil season one is available to watch. I think there are about 13 episodes. So far I've seen 6 of them. So far a really good show. If not for the blood, violence, and a little language here and there, it would be a family show. Very well done as are all of the Marvel movies. This series shows all the stunts, drama, acting, character development, sets, wardrobe, effects, etc. that you would expect in a big budget movie yet they cram all of that into shorter segments. Each one is over 30 minutes long and that is without the annoyance of commercials. it is almost like a soap opera for guys. Each show builds on the last and leads you into the next. Really cool fight scenes, explosions, etc.
Just started Friday. I've only watched a couple episodes, but I like what I have seen so far. It's gritty with a solid story line, not the fluff garbage the movie gave us. It's funny I just started watching and this thread starts.
I was telling a buddy of mine about it. He said that he had gone to see the Will Ferrell movie, Get Hard and was disgusted by the homosexual content. Then he asked me if there were any gay characters in the show and I realized there were none.
Number 7 is going to be one of those episodes that you will always want to re-watch. Good back story stuff!
Good to know. I got through the first 6 on the weekend. I stopped since it seemed to be a break in the storyline. I needed some excuse to get off my ass/stop watching.
Main character is flawed. He has a dopey friend. He can take on a bunch of bad guys and win. He fights at night. He has an alter-ego during day.
Just not excited by the formula... not something I am interested in watching.
Oh, I guess I don't really get why you even watched the first episode, then.
The main character is human, sure, but the blindness isn't that flawed when he has heightened other senses. And if you had stuck around for the second episode... you'd have seen he can't easily take on a bunch of bad guys. It has a refreshing take on how tiring fighting can be. It's an impressive show.
He fights at night because he has a day job and he can see just as well in day or night, unlike criminals. He needs money, which is why he has a job...
It's okay not to like it, but your reasons don't make a lot of sense... They might be stereotypical but they all make complete logical sense.
Oh, and the friend isn't really that silly. He's smart and it shows, he isn't just comic relief.
As I said... it is a formula, like Arrow, Flash, etc.... I watched part of the first episode to see if I would like it. I didn't. I expected something more, something different and there was nothing unusual in the first episode to lead me to believe that this was unique. You may not like my reasons, but you and I are different.

What makes it different is that it's good. Real writing and acting and not some stupid fake reality. It is a comic book on screen. It is a guy doing good just because he cares. That is the formula that TV lost a long time ago and desperately needs to find again.
I'm enjoying it. It requires suspending disbelief just as comics do. Arrow was the same. A guy with a bow and arrow wiping out dozens of men armed with full automatic weapons. In this case a blind guy getting dodging a knife or a gun while taking all kinds of physical hits from fists. I think that it's going to be fun though.

But he isn't really taking the physical hits well at all. Out of pretty much any movie or show I've seen, this one is furthest from that, which is why I'm confused why you and jaski say that. He isn't dodging knives either he got stabbed almost right when the show started. I'm starting to think you guys didn't even watch it!
He has super senses that came from the chemical spill. Sure, you have to suspend disbelief, like any movie that isn't a documentary. Lol. A normal blind guy doesn't make a very good superhero, right?
I really am okay with people not liking the show. I don't like a lot of shows and movies. I'm just saying out of all the shows to have these complaints about... this one isn't bad.
Hmmm, I said I watched enough of it to know that I won't enjoy it, as it is the same as other shows with similar superhero themes (which seems to be a popular format lately). You see something different, and they are writing the show for you. You don't need to defend the show, I have seen for myself that it wasn't written for me.

So you don't like superhero shows? Well my wife doesn't like cats. No matter how many times she says it, people are always certain that she will like THEIR cat. I will not make that mistake here with you.
SPOILER ALERT!! Daredevil is based on a comic book superhero and you can expect him to display incredible and heroic feats.
