They are always valid reasons: you screw with me, my property or my dogs you get cops called. If you persist you will be spending time in jail. If the cops felt it was un-warranted they wouldn't go over to deal with them now would they? Besides its a lot better than me coming over with a baseball bat and shotgun on the first incident, agreed?

It might vary somewhat by jurisdiction. I still think the tree owner is responsible for damage from it. Its also illegal to trim someone elses tree if its hanging on your property unless its an obstruction or hazard to you. The two insurance companies should be able to figure out who is responsible according to your local law. Like I said, its also no problem taking the owner to court over the damages. Make sure you have photos and estimates. Having the latest survey to prove where the boat and tree are also couldnt hurt.

No one has to make a claim, only seek advice. Don't jump to conclusions.

You destroy my property or injure my dog, and refuse to make it right, yes i would. And if i was coming you wouldn't have a chance to fight back as i wouldn't be waving a flag. Trust me on that.
( now im not saying if you are just being an ass ill drive over and start a fight, but as mentioned above i will yell at you over the fence, and most likely call the cops.. i was talking about actual harm being done and refusal to own up to it. Its a good thing we are not neighbours. We would either get along very well, or there WOULD be bloodshed within a week. I am guessing the very 1st time you "yelled over the fence" about the noise of power tools, or a bit of wood/ fiberglass dust flaoting around, I would end up shuving a power tool up your ass PDQ. THEN tell you to **** off.

I certainly hope you don't need to "explain it a different way." Given your tendency towards violence that could end badly for me.
