Why are ice cream sandwich bar wrappers glued shut? By the time I get it open, i'm frustrated and it's not fun any more.

No problem, a heat gun will soften the glue so the wrapper can easily be removed.

I don't have finger nails. I eat them too. Besides by the time you get it open, it starts to melt.

Crawl in the freezer with it and tear the paper? Bring a paring knife too...

Dunno what yer talking about. The ones I eat aren't glued. they come off too easy, if anything...I like a bit of wrapper between me and the bar to hold on to, and it tends to all come off unless I put some effort into making sure there's some left.

Check it out around the 3:00 mark. Seems like it may be so they don't come open during boxing

Like Black Emrald said, strictly for convenience at the factory.
You don't want yours with the wrapper half torn off while in the box, do you? That would seem kinda yucky to me.
EDIT: But, yeah, thinking about it, making them easier to open wouldn't be bad. And you'd probably eat more, so they'd sell more. Win-win situation for everybody except the health Nazis.

Try opening a package of cupcakes. Without my Xacto knife, there crumbs by the time you get it open.

try WD-40 !
That will soften the glue and if not really soak it good then try again.......
OR
Buy the cheap ones, They use the sticky ice cream ozzing out as the glue for theirs
