Do we do what is right, what feels good at the time, what gets the most reward, what people have always done, the opposite of what people have always done because we think its cooler to rebel, what keeps people liking us, or just whats easiest?

Yeh, that works a lot, most of us are always looking for the easy way, otherwise the lever and fulcrom would never have been invented, or the wheel for that matter.

And, a lot of times its just because we say to ourselves, DAMN, that looks like fun. Wonder if I can do it. HEY, YA'ALL WATCH THIS.

More effective, using your noggin. I like it. That took determination and ingenuity though which in many ways isnt easy.

Finding better ways to do stuff...(less effort)

Seeing that a little effort now makes for a lot less work forever after that point. That's not laziness, as long as they keep working on developing more efficient ways to do stuff.

Parsonomy and occam's razor and all that.

Doing the right thing when no one will notice. And it won't benefit you (though you might get good feelings when you pat yourself on the back)

Don't you think absolutely anything anyone does is entirely self serving?

Na, just that my brain is always steaming ahead, if what I'm doing is somehow boring it just keeps on going with other thoughts, I let it out a little in a post from time to time.
Really its kind of about everything, since everything that happens involves choices. Just thinking about why some choices are made, mine or anyones, witnessing news and politics, media and the public, parents and children, celebs and patriots, doctors and janitors, anything. Thinking about the reasons on the fly and being aware can cause a second thought and possibly a different choice.

Select one of the following:
Cranial or glutes.

1. Put right hand into front jeans pocket.
2. Remove coin--any coin.
3. Place coin in left hand.
4. Curl right index finger at knuckle joints into a "u" shape.
5.Place the tip of right thumb tightly into pocket formed by right index finger.
6. Place coin on top of right thumbnail.
6. Using the friction created by keeping thumb tip pushed against index finger, quickly contract the opponens pollicis and abducter pollicis brevis muscles of the right thumb while simutaneously contracting the flexor pollicis longus tendon of the same digit.
7. The resulting movements will release enough kinetic energy to expel the coin upward, to a height and at a velocity solely dependent on the forces exerted, with the coin oscillating end over end.
8. Step back and allow coin to succumb to the force known as gravity.

Contrast the image now visible on the top of the coin that most closely matches the selection you made at the beginning of this exercise.

Your choice is now complete.

Would you like to make another?

Do we do what is right,
- I default to this one, but I frequently rationalize other motivations

what feels good at the time,
- when eating, driving, and romancing

what gets the most reward,
- nah, that's usually not my motivation. Inner peace has nothing to do with obtaining reward.

what people have always done,
- there are rare times when this affects my choices, but it can sometimes be important

the opposite of what people have always done because we think its cooler to rebel,
- I admit, this applies for me far more often than conformity does, but a satisfactory result is far LESS often.

what keeps people liking us,
- sometimes yes, sometimes no. How do you WANT me to answer to this?

or just whats easiest?
- as I get older, this becomes more important. I have less energy, less spare time, and definitely less desire for the accolades of others.

Its all perspective.

You say yes, I say no
You say stop and I say go go go, oh no
You say goodbye and I say hello
Hello hello
I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello

Though you have those people who will catch the coin, and then flip it over on to the back of their other hand...forever changing their supposedly random experience.
