Well, guys.

For the past 6 or so months dad has been in a great deal of abdominal pain, he has been to emerg for it multiple times, dozens of doctors visits and they kept telling him "constipation". He has been eating prunes like candy, a bunch of pills they gave him, a couple times at the hospital they have given him an enima and sent him home. The last time on that was about 3 weeks ago.

So, 6am last Sunday I had to run him down to emerg again because he was in so much pain. Well, THIS time they did an ultrasound or MRI or whatever the hell it was, and admitted him on the spot for an intestinal blockage. He had bowel cancer and about 4 feet removed back in '07 and they are now thinking it has returned.

They had wanted to do the surgurey right away, but with all the blood thinners and other crap he is on for health problems (the kitchen table looks like a pharmacy) they had to wait for his system to clear out. TUESDAY they told us he had been bleeding internally for quite some time and started giving him transfusions to get his cell count up.

Now they are thinking, after almost 5 days of getting him stabilized and all the pharms out of his system they can go ahead with the operation sometime today. At his age (86) and with all his health problems (about a dozen stents around the heart, kidney issues, lung issues which could be related to the internal bleeding with not enough blood to circulate the oxygen) it is somewhat risky plus there is some chance he will come out of it with a crap bag glued to his side.

Its gonna be kinda a stressfull day around here.

I know Cnadian health care is pretty good, but they fracked up big time this time taking 6 months and dozens of visits to find this.

Praying for you guys. Praying for a full recovery. My GF just recovered from breast cancer after a bilateral mastectomy. Cancer is a horrible disease. I wish you all the luck.

Well, you guys tried, cant ask for more. Thanks. (I never did believe in higher powers or luck or universes or anything like that anyway, but it was worth a shot )

He survived the surgery, but nothing they can do that way, nobody will ever know what the outcome would have been if they cought it when he 1st started having issues 6 months ago.

Its spread too far, too many small spots to cut out so chemo and radiation it is.
