You assume the war on drugs is about drugs? Its not. Its about expansion of government, so the dollars are not 'wasted' and they are having 'success'.

Saying no might get you more trouble than its worth. DEA does not have a sense of humor.

Part of the field was on the private property and part was on National Forest land.
None of us here, have ever met the current owner of that 40 ac tract--he bought it from an out of state owner about 1 1/2 years ago. He had a road put in on the far west end, and supposedly put a house pad in but there's never been a soul on it that we knew of after the construction guys left. There's a gate at the road, but otherwise that property is not fenced, and most folks driving along believe it is just part of the national forest. You can't tell the difference from the road or from the air in that and the forest.

Thank you for your time and willingness to help. You did not have to, but did it anyway.
Yes it is unpopular to sum but worth it to others.
I think I would buy you a beer if I could

On my place they would have to be broadleaf herbicide ready--I spray ~ 1600 gallons of Remedy(triclopyr) + 2,4d amine mix twice a year.

Good thing the authorities didn't know your internet nickname, huh?

On a side note: I don't blame you at all for wanting to reminisce. I'd do it too, if I were in your shoes.

This is why they wanted to use my place instead of the original site at my neighbor's.

They all know my wife's name, which is where my username came from. Everyone at PFF knows her as Jane or Calamityjane, but here in real life everyone calls her by her whole name-- Maryjane.

I "think", the link below will get you to google earth of my area-feel free to poke around, but it's the most recent photo set--Nov 2013. (I know, because I can see a tractor near one of the barns and I have a round bale of hay on it. I didn't start feeding hay until Nov last year)
I've pored over it at highest zoom and can't see anything that would indicate this grow field was there last year, but didn't see anything to indicate it might have been.

If that back hoe is still out there in the field, I'd like to borrow it for a while.

Isn't it strange that after a bombing, everyone blames the bomber, his upbringing, his environment, his culture, his mental state but … after a shooting, the problem is the gun?

No you don't--it takes some finessin' to run that one--not a lick of brakes on it, but it has a hyd shuttle fwd-neu-rev, in front of a 4 spd manual box.
Not bad on my flat ground but any hill, better be ready to drop the bucket in a hurry--there's a pretty good sized learning curve to keep from having a wreck.
(At some time in it's long life, someone took both brake cylinders off of it--it was bought at a county surplus auction back in the late 90s and was pretty wore out then)

Obviously, you are not aware of my infamous reputation for being able to mess up a good thing. If it's unbreakable, I can break it, if it's ridable, I can fall off of it. There really isn't much I can't screw up worse that it already is. But, I suppose telling you this won't help me get that back hoe borrowed, huh?
