There have been 4WD Fieros but, the ones I have seen were some other chassis with a Fiero body wrapped around it.
There has also been a boat version.
Last I heard, Maryjane (Don) was working on a flying version.
Edited: Most impressive version I remember was someone put a Fiero body on a AWD Astrovan. Been a number of years since I read about that one but, I thought it was cool. If you use the search function, you might find pics, descriptions and how to.

Unless you're talking about the aforementioned Fiero-body-on-a-4wd-chassis things, no, its not been done, to my knowledge.
It has been discussed several times, but the problems are in converting a Fiero drivetrain to All Wheel Drive. No GM system eixist that will work. Adapting some other system means relocating the gas tank, among other challenges. So by the time you're done, there isn't much Fiero left.
You can do anything, IF you have the skills, time, and money. If you've got all three, you've probably got the good sense NOT to try this.
Sorry, I was typing too slow. Must've been aliens. I've actually seen one pic of a Fiero on a 4wd chassis that was really nicely done, and, at least to me, looked quite attractive. So, YES it can, and has, been done. With varying degrees of success. I've also seen pics that were real hack jobs.

But if you swap out everything underneath, is it still a fiero?
Yes it has been done using a Fiero with the stock Fiero drivetrain mid engine and all, however with the addition of a complete electric drivetrain up front. The car could run on all gas driving the rear wheels, or all electric driving the front wheels or any combination of the 2. Made for some crazy acceleration videos posted on you tube.
Its actually been done like that a couple of times with different setups as it worked so well.

I've always thought (crazy, I know) that a person with the skills could mount a transfer case on the passenger side where the cv joint runs into it, and out to the wheel, and a shaft would run to the front and run the front wheels. You would lose a little passenger leg room, but it would be interesting.
Most I have seen have been done on a Chevy S10 4x4 or GM equivalent chassis. However, I would still really like to see a Subaru AWD swap into a Fiero. I think that would be pretty awesome!
I once had a plan to put a Fiero body on a WRX chassis. Never got around to it.
Honestly, if one were inclined to dump the money into building an AWD Fiero, the Subaru powerplants would be the best option I would think. An EJ22 with a 4.44 autobox or a 5 speed WRX tranny would be awesome. If you could keep it to Subaru geometry that is...Then the Fiero would feel more like the poor man's Porsche, as some would refer to it I'd call it more of a baby BRZ the way it should be built (rear mid engine awd)
In all reality though, I would rather drop an EJ22 in with a 5 speed dual range 4wd subaru transmission (twin stick) from a late 80s/early 90s Loyale or an 86-88 RX (with the locking center diff). Relocating the gas tank wouldn't be an issue if you use a small fuel cell under the front hood and relocate the spare tire to the rear (or vice versa). With the EJ series engine you could probably even kick the rear trunk firewall forward into the engine bay further and put your fuel cell in there.
