My wife and I are headed to Las Vegas next week for our anniversary. We have a few things planned but I'd appreciate any tips or ideas of things to see or do. Thanks

Britney Spears is still hot. Just don't pay attention to her lip syncing.

Yeah....lets go on a 2,500 mile trip to see the mentally disturbed white version of Milli Vanilli

Go to ANY of the dinners with shows such as the Excalibur. You won't be disappointed.

All my info is very dated but I know what I'd do; rent a car and look at places I once lived, worked or visited. I finished my enlistment at Nellis AFB just north of Las Vegas and lived there for five years afterward.

Been back to visit only a few times since and have seem many changes.
The headliners on the strip are different but many are people you thought were already dead or tributes to same, so some things never change.

Things worthwhile still I think are the Hoover Dam tour, Valley of Fire State Park and Lake Mead. The new route-93 bridge south of the dam is impressive.

It's still hot there so stay inside during the afternoon if possible. Have fun!

Thanks guys We did get a rental car for the time we're there (for the price of a taxi from the airport), and we've got plans to visit the dam. Also a couple special dinners but nothing else event-wise planned yet, other than walking the strip and taking in the sights. I looked at a couple options for the speedway, convention center, stuff like that, but nothing really seems to be going on next week. There do seem to be some interesting arcades around, so we might visit some of those. My wife wanted me to try one of the "5 laps in a supercar" things but it seemed expensive for what you got, and not really the cars I wanted to drive.

Don't pay to drink!!! free margaritas at wild bills casino on the strip and take the tickets from the girls on the side of the road by the steps leading down to the Ice bar in front of the MGM Grand, those tickets are free stuff like drinks and t shirts. Go to the stratosphere at night!! Awesome views and the rides are easier to get on. Watch the fountains at Caesars palace, they move and the big one does a big show. Best buffet is at Mandalay bay, if you like shrimp the prawns are the size of rock lobster tails.

When my wife and I were out there we found that the odds were a lot better off the strip than on. We found firearm shops that have ranges to shoot that were reasonable. We drove to the Grand Canyon for a few hours just to get some great pictures of the sun set and colors and yes we toured the inside of Hoover Dam.
