Well, we just received word last night that the documentary I produced and co-wrote has officially been nominated for an Emmy in the categories of "Documentary" and "Screenwriting" in the Mid-Atlantic region. I know some of you have followed the film and even ordered copies so I wanted to share. We're elated and feel privileged to have even been considered. The awards ceremony is September 20 but in the meantime, I'm just jumping up and down over being nominated.
The film is called Misa's Fugue and is the story of a Holocaust survivor by the name of Frank Grunwald. You can read more at www.misasfugue.com
That is great news Jen, ! Tell us more. Who are the other nominees ? How is the winner decided and by who (I have never been a fan of following awards, even for things that I like) ? I recognize the honor you have of just being nominated. Congrats. To do something for which you have a passion, and to be recognized for it ... scratch that thought. I am sure the rewards for your effort was your effort.

Thanks all! We were eligible because the film was selected to air on WFMZ (a Lehigh Valley/Allentown/Reading, PA Channel). We were then selected by the Mid-Atlantic Region to go before a panel of judges from National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (like the "Academy" for film that chooses the Oscars - NAFTA). We were then chosen from several hundred films that aired in the Mid-Atlantic market as one of 4 finalists that were nominated. We find out in September if we win. It's just surreal!!
Aside from this honor, we've distributed several thousand copies of the doc around the world and played at nearly a dozen film festivals worldwide, some of which we captured awards at. But this is the pinnacle!
~ Jen
